FIFY.

I have no clue which of Dodds' comments was dumber, the "Joneses" or the "sliver".

A&M would try to block the hell out of that

Try? I'm certain that we would have the backing of 3/4 of the conference at a minimum.

Almost all the schools in the SEC would, yes that includes LSU.

Maybe, maybe not

$ talks and I see no reason LSU would care if UT were to join the SEC.

At least not nearly as much as Arkie and A&M would

Look at it this way:

Would you sleep with Paris Hilton without protection knowing that you were going to catch something nasty?

The sips are Paris Hilton in this case.

Texas does not now or in the future need to join the SEC. It simply will not happen. Even if the Big 12 folds in a dozen years or so, UT will have plenty of options to pursue and they won't have to go looking for them.

If Texas were going to abide by the same rules as everyone else I don't see why LSU would block them.

What would be our motivation? It would mean more money for SEC programs and no real down side for LSU that I can figure out.

Is this before or after Beverly Kearney's lawyer finishes raping their athletic department?

We would have never left if that was the case.

Texas seems to have lived by the rules in the Big 12 - its just that all the rules are skewed in their favor

The money that they fought over in teh Big 12 was peanuts anyway. If they were to join the SEC it would be for an equal share of a much larger pie (rather than the biggest piece of a small pie)

Again, proving our point. They will NEVER join an organization they cannot control.

This is a school who wants to be the next Notre Dame; without the history, following, academic acumen, or athletic success.

I could see Bama voting in favor of Texas for this reason. There's enough people in this conference I already don't like. May as well add one more.

Bev K is doing the athlete dept a huge favor. Her actions will lead to the early departure of Deloss Dodds, Mack Brown, and a lot of other dead weight in the department. The amount of money that will be required to cure Bev's claims against the University will not be a detriment in going forward with a new athletic director and football coach.

FIFY. Her attorney has requested discovery to not only include the athletic department, but the university as a whole, for her discrimination and disparate treatment claims.

May be true...but A&M will surpass UT with Texas kids (it's already happening). UT will have to do something sooner than later.

Count on it

This will make Hopwood look tame in comparison.

Nothing sharpens the mind like failure

They are poised to become the #2 program in the state of Texas. You'd think that would make them step back and re-evaluate things

You assume that you're dealing with rational, adaptive individuals. They make the grinders and the pigs look SANE.
