Why would we want Texas? If we wanted rednecks who thought they were upper class and always overestimated their athletic success, we already have Ole Miss. And their campus is prettier.

I'd love to have them in the SEC with Clemson and FSU.

Yeah, USMC Gators has never hidden where is allegiances lie (and what he thinks of A&M).

Never on their own, only if the conferences combined. They will argue academics, values, culture, etc... isn't a good fit with the SEC. A bunch of bullshite.
The truth is that they are terrified of being on equal footing with anyone. They require the advantage of superior facilities, superior athletes, and having more TV exposure and more money than other programs they compete against in order to win consistently.
Yes, they can beat the likes of Rice, Wyoming, Tech, etc... but they are much less likely to win the game when the team on the other side of the ball has similiar athletes. See LSU, Bama, Florida, Arkansas, OU, and A&M as prime examples of teams they would rather not play. Say what you want about historical records but over the last 50 years A&M and UT are right at .500 in terms of head to head wins/losses. OU has owned Texas for the last 40 years but still Texas has an overall historical win lead. OU arse rapes Texas every other year now it seems. In general, UT needs an overwhelming athletic advantage in order to win. Texas will never, never, ever, never join the SEC on their own.
Dodds will curl up under his desk, suck on his thumb, and clutch his "we're Texas" burnt orange blankie just thinking about their prospects in the SEC.
That is a fact.

I don't believe aTm will vote to add them. Similar to the Kentucky/Louisville thing, or FLorida/FSU/Miami thing.

Well, Climpyson is a whole lot more tolerable than the longhorns, but adding either would water down the brand in each state. The longhorns should have listened to Gene Stallings and joined us in the SEC in 2010. Now they are suffering for their lack of foresight.

Which is just a Wednesday on A&M's campus

no they aren't.
Clemson fans give Arky fans a run for their money for being most delusional

More tolerable for Aggies. Make no mistake, I am sure you would vote for the longhorns over Clympsun any day. I know they bug the shite out of SC fans.

This, unless there's some sort of equal revenue distribution clause which Texas would never agree to.

They finally did agree to one in the big 12.
technically this did agree to equal revenue but in reality they did not.
They only agreed to equal sharing of conference money once they had the LHN to ensure they would still make more than everyone else in the Big 12.
Since the LHN essentially kills any shot at a full Big 12 net, they are still refusing to be an equal partner.
They claim its fair because every school is free to strike their own deal but they damn well know nobody else is going to be able to create their own national network backed by by an ESPN sized entity.
Hell, the second biggest brand in the Big 12 OU was only able to strike a deal for extra regional coverage on Fox Sports SW.

Stallings was on the A&M System Board of Regents. He couldn't care what t.u. did, he just wanted to make sure that A&M wasn't part of it (which he got; A&M blew up the PAC-16 move, and although it took another year A&M moved to the SEC by themselves)

But OU was smart enough to know (based in part on the disaster of the LHN) that such a deal wouldn't work for them. So they worked out their deal for the state and the Ark-La-Tex area. No albatross for them.

Never, Texas looks down its nose at the SEC. Texas feels it is better than the SEC in sports and in academics, it fits in better with the Pac. What it really comes down to is that the money brokers will never let it happen because Texas only wants one or two tough games per year not 5 or 6.

Did someone call A&M "Flatlander Gumps"?
That may stick....

Texas has too much of an ego to join with the SEC. They'll want to conference to rotate around them, and we're obviously not going to do that.

You guys think the SEC has it bad with bama? You have no idea about tu. They are 2x worse
