It'll never happen. Using the SEC "gentleman's agreement", A&M will say no.
Don't want them and don't need them.
Don't want them and don't need them.

I see the votes going down like this in order of their conviction one way or another (strongest conviction being #1):
For adding the sips:
1. Alabama (they have nothing to lose by the sips joining and would like the additional revenue from that huge fan base)
2. Tennessee (it's really a matter of indifference, but the money sounds good)
3. Vanderbilt (could go either way. They like the money, but don't need even more competition)
4. Ole Miss (don't want more competition, but that money looks good. They are an outlier)
Against adding the sips:
1. A&M (no explanation needed here)(I will go on a god-forsaken rampage...ye be warned)
--
huge abyss
--
2. Missouri (they know first hand what they are like)
3. Arkansas (only lower than Missouri because they have had a long break from the insufferable douchebaggary)
gap
4. Florida (FSU is an instate threat. They want a quid pro quo from A&M to veto FSU)
5. South Carolina (See Florida)
6. Georgia (See Florida, but GT is less of a threat)
7. Kentucky (See Florida re: Louisville)
8. LSU (no real in-state threat, but they are close enough to know smell the shite)
9. Mississippi State (they don't need another storied program in the SEC to compete with)
10. Auburn (See State, to a much lesser extent)
In sum, those fricktards who destroyed two conferences are not going to claim the SEC as their inevitable 3rd.

I honestly think no teams would want them in, not as long as the LHN exists.

Those bastards are so full of themselves, it's comical. They think they're a sure thing deal to jump to any conference on the planet to which they decide to move--that anyone would roll out the red carpet to the horns.

Don't confuse the Southwest Conference with the Big 12.
Oops. Got me on that one.

Rice probably could have cared less. They only have football games to host their comedy skit a/k/a the MOB.

This, unless there's some sort of equal revenue distribution clause which Texas would never agree to.

How many AD's do you know of that actually say, "We are the Joneses" to the press and firmly believe it? That's Texas.
Not to mention the famous "sliver" comment.
quote:
unless A&M decides to support Texas there is no way they can just screw over 3 Texas schools
And as far as Baylor is concerned they can forget about that, not after threatening to sue A&M for leaving the Big 12.
quote:
Their backup plan is to take Tech, OU, and OSU and go to the Pac.
That deal is off the table forever. The PAC was interested when A&M was part of the deal (to freeze out the SEC from expanding into Texas) but now it brings nothing. Texas and OU could probably get in as a pair (and maybe bring Kansas along) but that's about it.
quote:
They could even go to the Big 1G theoretically where they fit best in terms of the academic side and would love to be a part of the Big 1G research consortium.
That is, if Michigan and Ohio State want to deal with the headache. And they'll get an earful from Nebraska first. If A&M had wanted to go to the B1G the only delay would be getting both the B1G and the consortium (which is legally separate) to do a simultaneous invite.
Choices have consequences. Texas has yet to learn this (or is in major denial).

Texas will never be in the SEC

They finally did agree to one in the big 12. They realized after everyone with options left that they are nothing without their conference mates (business partners). They would probably not be bad in the SEC if they were kept in check and under control. I simply want them to suffer for their lack of foresight and institutionalized arrogance. I also like being the #1 in Texas.

When you call yourself "the Joneses" and claim your rival's fan base is "a sliver down the side of East Texas", equality is a downgrade in your mind.

I'd love to have them in the SEC with Clemson and FSU.
