I'd take him for sure.

He's the 2nd best coach in the SEC. Dave Aranda is the 3rd.

Do you really think that a coach who currently wins less than 1 out of every 5 big games would go to LSU and make them a championship contender every year?

LSU better hope so with their current coach.

Jimbo has a national championship as a head coach, 3 conference titles as a head coach, a 5-2 bowl record, and an overall record of 78-18. He's also a much better and more dynamic recruiter.

Would you really take Mullen over Jimbo? No offense to Mullen, but I don't understand the reasoning for wanting Mullen over Jimbo.

Jimbo with Aranda would be incredible.
But Mullen with Aranda would be a good second choice.

LSU can't afford Mullen. That's why y'all hired Gorillageron. Remember your state is even more broke than Mississippi so you went the cheaper route. Don't act like we don't know you're broke. Hahaha here comes the posse strutting that arse

Mullen would have at least one conference title if State was in the ACC. Who knows what he could do with FSU talent.

I don't know if he's a better coach or not. But I do feel confident saying Jimbo couldn't have done what Mullen has done at State.

Jimbo has played for one national championship. The same number as Gene Chizik. He's accumulated his record in the weak arse ACC, while Mullen has been in the toughest conference division in college football history. Jimbo has lost 3+ games in half of his seasons at FSU, in a sorry arse conference.

I can think of like 3 regular season games in 8 years that he's lost to teams with less talent than us, while pretty often beating teams with more talent. How does that translate when you have more talent than all of your opponents? LSU sees 1 team a year with more talent than them.

If a coach doesn't lose the games he shouldn't, LSU would be happy, before even considering that he probably splits the games against equivalent talent. That's effectively 10-11 starting wins every year, before factoring in closer competition.

Mullen can't recruit at MSU like he could at LSU, but, as State fans have said and proved in the past few days, State has talent (multiple 4*, couple of 5*), yet Mullen still can't seem to win big games on a consistent basis. Not even a fairly consistent basis.

You did just kind of frick em in the arse with this. Careful. They will put Rosebowl on you.

Reckon that might have to do with their lack of talent? Not everyone can afford to drop bags of cash at recruits' doors and pay for hookers.

At LSU, he'd have all the talent he needs.

Then why hasn't Mullen been hired by a big time program? If it would be scary seeing him at LSU, it would be scary seeing him at any big program right? Funny how big programs don't see what you see. Sure he's shown his worth developing QBs, but how well has he developed other positions?

He's a good coach, just not a dynamic recruiter. LSU, Florida, they don't need those.

People always say this but it's patently false. LSU went about 10 years without dynamic recruiting. LSU has the advantage of being in fertile recruiting area with no instate competition, but you still have to recruit those kids and need a good recruiter to do so.
