Found guilty? Or just straight player quotes?

Because I don't really give a shite about the report. The players were pretty honest that they were paid for play both times. There is even direct quotes from players going back to the 60s but the NCAA couldn't investigate that. I'll go ahead and take direct quotes from multiple players as evidence. You can keep reading your whitewashed reports

Bama seems to know that the rest of the conference thinks they are snakes, so they are constantly in spin control and denial. Different animals.

This is a fantastic post.

I was commenting on the jest of the aTm responses. Typical, another blind Bama fan.

And yes, there were others who voted with Texas on previous revenue-sharing formulas... Nebraska and Texas A&M included. You know, the ones who bitched and moaned about unequal revenue while leaving.

Dr Loftin never directly voted for unequal revenue sharing. After it was clear equal revenue sharing was not an option he made the best deal possible for A&M.

Then Texas became an even worse business partner and a year later we left.

And when did he (or any of his subordinates) vote against it?

TA&M voted with their feet.
Best move they will ever make.

A&M had no problem with unequal revenue sharing until Texas got a $300 million contract with ESPN.

Then they wanted equal revenue sharing. Why? Because they were broke, and then left the conference for financial reasons.

Are you gonna pull the $16MM interest free loan card now? Complete non-issue. It was $16 mil. Chump change these days.

While we are talking broke. How come Texas carries $260MM in debt? $160MM/yr revenue and you can't stay better than $260MM in the red. At least all that debt bought y'all a losing conference record the last 3 years. Money well spent IMO

I am old enough to know that A&M and Missouri made the right move.

No, I think the fact that the academic side took the checkbook away from the athletics side is damning enough.

You're about to plunge into more than half-a-billion dollars in debt to build a stadium.

The difference? Texas can pay its bills, A&M could not, hence "the loan."

Showing your ignorance. The academics didn't take the checkbook. We were in the process of fundraising for capital projects. Dr Gates decided to front the money to expedite the process. It's interest free money. Who wouldn't take it?

And we are having a $450MM renovation to have the biggest and nicest collegiate stadium in Texas. But we will not have that in debt. 50% of the money has been donated up front and 25% more pledged to be donated. We'll still be carrying less debt than you guys with more to show for it.

Does it make me a bad person that I get sardonic pleasure knowing you haven't accepted your new reality yet? As long as A&M is in the SEC and Kevin Sumlin is the coach A&M is top dog in Texas. DWI

LSUNV, I can't wait for Nov 23. So glad to have LSU on the schedule yearly again. You're the rival I've always personally wished A&M had instead of Texas. You guys know how to have fun
