Well he's right. If there was a high demand for college baseball on tv then ESPN(1) and other major networks would air it.

ESPN regularly airs NBA and CBB games, including WBK.

ESPN airs NFL and CFB games.

ESPN airs MLB and LLWS games and the CWS on ESPN2...

Most people have never seen a single inning of college baseball because it's a shite sport. This board probably accounts for 90% of the entire college baseball audience.

ESPN showed all 16 regionals last year and they had pretty good ratings, so somebody is watching...

Jeez, how is this still debated? College baseball attendance dwarfs that of every college sport not named "football" or basketball".

And in the case of LSU baseball...which is the gold standard of college baseball attendance...it dwarfs the basketball attendance of every school not named "Syracuse" or "Kentucky".

Schools like LSU, South Carolina, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss have baseball stadium minor league teams would be proud to call home.

College baseball is a tremendous success, and a revenue sport at many schools. It's at a disadvantage vs college basketball solely due to weather issues.

So GTFO with shite already....

There are so many inaccurate and wrong statements in your post, I don't know where to begin or if its even worth the effort to correct you...

Funny thing is...There's actually not a single "inaccurate and wrong" statement in anything I posted.

Google is your friend.

Here is the deal

College Football and College Basketball differ from their pro counterparts - both sports produce a product that differs yet compliments its pro counter parts. For example we see a lot of diversity in offenses/defense schemes in college football compared to the NFL, and College Basketball is large and diverse enough to where it can be a lot of different things, while the NBA is a lot more run and gun.

College Baseball? What does it do differently than MLB that is a good thing? How does it differ?

IMO College Baseball is just an inferior product to MLB, it doesn't do anything better, while College Football/Basketball at least provide appealing alternatives to their pro counterparts.

Well, in that case, fire up the googles and provide proof to your claims:

You're the one challenging, you do the work. I've actually posted that info before.

Syracuse and UK were the only basketball schools to break the 400K mark in attendance last year. LSU baseball also broke 400k attendance...for the second year in a row.

I actually thought that was common knowledge by now. Guess not.

You clearly didn't experience Alabama's national 1997 title game appearance in baseball.

Baseball is America's pastime and it's a passion in the SEC.

Between how many home games for each?

So you proof is to skew stats.

The point I am trying to make

Is that when it comes to the NFL/NBA... its like rock music. Rock has a lot of different genres within itself, like alternative, metal, soft rock, etc. NFL = Hard Rock, College Football = Alternative. It's a different product but still appealing. NFL is Aerosmith and College Football is Coldplay. Different styles but both appealing

Meanwhile when it comes to MLB/College Baseball... MLB is like a big rock band like the Rolling Stones and College Baseball is a Rolling Stones Cover Band. Just inferior all around

Dude...400k is 400k. Those three schools were the only ones to do it in their respective sports. Period, end of discussion.

You should be googling, instead of arguing with me....

LSU is one of just a few schools where baseball makes money. So don't act like it's the national norm.

Link to where I said that? And you act as if there are no schools that lose money at basketball...

No it isn't.

There are 40 games, possible in Basketball, most teams play around 15 games at home.

Obviously LSU must play a high number of home games in Baseball, likely 1.5 to 2 times as many as basketball teams.

There are probably as many schools that lose money on basketball as there are making money on baseball.
