Guess I just dont see alot of Bama veterans with long hall of fame carreers since Saban took over at Bama.

This really is one of the dumbest things I've seen on here.

Not a troll. Its a numbers thing. 6/40 or 15% of your draft picks since Saban sent players pro have a chance of having a 5+ year career

Maybe I spoke too soon.

I think more Bama players appear to be busts for a few reasons

1. they play next to a lot of talent that makes them look better than they are

2, just a lot of them get drafted, and not everyone is good enough.

I have no idea what trent was or wasn't on.

My post was making light of the way whoever i was responding to dismissed players as not having a chance of being relevant based on his own subjective opinions.

How many of the 1st rd. draft choices from Bama under Saban would be 1st rd. draft picks if they were to re-enter the draft this year. Let's take a look at the guys Saban recruited and developed........

2010- Rolando McClain
Kareem Jackson

2011- Marcell Dareus
Julio Jones
James Carpenter
Mark Ingram

2012- Trent Richardson
Mark Barron
Dre Kirkpatrick
Donte Hightower

2013- Dee Milliner
Chance Warmack
D.J. Fluker

I only see one player who would definitely be drafted in the 1st rd if he were to re-enter the draft (Julio Jones). He already has injury issues which is a concern with players from Bama under Saban.

I see one guy who definitely wouldn't be drafted if he were to re-enter the draft (Rolando McClain). Guy is a head-case and wasn't exactly lighting up the league when he was playing. He was a top ten pick.

I'm not sure Trent Richardson would be drafted at all. He was the third pick (ouch). Mark Ingram would be drafted but not in the first four rounds.

I won't go through each player but it's obvious Saban isn't providing the NFL with impact players to justify this many 1st rounders. Bama fans shouldn't worry because the word is out and I don't see it hurting his recruiting efforts. Bama even has a few more projected to go in the first rd this year.

Fluker, Barron, Carpenter, and Julio would all probably go in the first round again.

Dareus also made the pro bowl this year as a sub. I'd say he would make it in the first round again.

What have I said thats derp... Of all the people Bama has had drafted... How many are 5+ year veterans currently starting and towards the top of their position???

Ill wait.

I'll bite.

Evan Mathis-probowler arguably best guard in league
Andre Smith-(yes, arguably the best RT in the league now)Probowler
Ryans- pro bowler
Dareus-had 70 tackles as a DT. Which is a ton for the position. Probowler
Julio- probowler
Eddie Lacy- ROTY and Probowler

List of full starters:
Kareem Jackson
James Carpenter
Mark Anderson
Mark Barron
Hightower
Upshaw
DJ Fluker
Trent Richardson
Dee Milliner

Partial/Occasional starters:
Mark Ingram
Dre Kirkpatrick
Javier Arenas
Nick Johnson
Terrance Cody
Robert Lester

I'm to tired to list anymore. Lets out it this way. Not including this year's draft or non drafted FAs. There have been 31 draftees from the 2010 team. Probably will be more from the 2011, 2012, and 2013 teams.

The measure of a great college team is the amount of nfl HoF players it produces?. I'm happy with producing multiple NFL starters. Within 5 years the amount of players in the nfl from Alabama will be RIDICULOUS.

Von Miller is better than every defensive player Alabama currently has in the NFL.
