First let me start off by saying, im impressed with how many players you guys send to the NFL, thats not what this is about.

Is there a logical reason why most (i use that term loosely) of the players drafted from Bama are busts (or at least underperformers) based on their careers?

Is just wearing a crimson tide uniform enough to get you drafted regardless of how good you really are? That is all I can think of... Name recognition and the fact you played for Saban (who had a rough time in the NFL i might add)

LSU puts about as many players into the NFL as you gumps do and most of their alumni have better careers as a whole (when they stay out of jail/suspensions). Does this make Les Miles a better "career developer" than Nick Saban?

There has to be an explanation for the mass amount of bust that come out of Tuscalossa.

I may be missing the answer. Please let me know, because I just cant figure it out.

1. Many have not been busts.

2. Many have been drafted higher and therefore had higher expectations simply because of the Bama/Saban pedigree. See Kareem Jackson.

3. Many have already reached their ceiling in college due to the NFL style training required by Saban at Alabama.

4. Many have no idea how to deal with the freedom and personal commitment required in the NFL when you don't have someone keeping their eye on you 24/7.

Does Alabama have a higher percentage of busts, or just more busts because they have more higher draft picks than anybody else (and thus more successes too)? Provide some stats and then I'll try to give you an answer if one is required. TIA.

Some teams likely reach a little bit for Alabama players, which in turns leads to what seems a disproportionate number of busts. However if "bust" as it were could ever be defined I imagine that the percentage of Alabama's would be pretty commensurate to the overall percentage and perhaps slightly higher due to some NFL teams reaching.

People say shite like this all the time, but the actual lists of busts is pretty damn small

Hell the damn OROY this past year was Eddie Lacy.

I think it mainly has to do with the fact that Bama as a team is so good that some players appear elite when they are probably just pretty good.

...so Saban has won 3 titles with non elite players?

Saban is truly the GOAT

Julio Jones. Injured a lot, but when healthy he is a top 5 NFL WR. Looks like Eddie Lacy will become a beast. Marcel Dareus is playing great but won't wrack up huge stats at his position. Hightower is doing great. Most have only been in the league a couple years so tough to say.
