I predicted 7-5, and the final tally was 5-7, so the short answer is the season went worse than I thought it would.

Of the seven losses, we were soundly beaten by 4 teams, Utah, Kentucky, Georgia and LSU. We had really good chances to win the other 3 games vs Arkansas, Missouri and FSU. Of the games we won, only South Carolina was close and we could have lost that won easily. So when you are losing most of your close games, much of it comes down to coaching, and I don't think we have the guy to get UF back to the upper echelon of the conference.

I think it is time to cut bait, but we probably won't for another year. I am not going to go into all the reasons why Billy is not the answer, but you can tell when you are watching a poorly coached team, and man it sure is glaring.

A historically great, national championship caliber offense with a junior high defense. I expected to be an atlanta

We hit our ceiling this season but failed to break through it.

Most OM fans predicted between 6 to 8 wins based upon our roster and schedule. A win over a currently top 15 LSU and Tulane's only loss with our losses coming AT Bama and UGA.

I'd say a 10-2 season is successful. We've had a ton of injuries throughout the year all over our offense.

expected 10-2. Sucks when you have an offense that can score in 30 seconds but a defense that couldn't stop a team full of wheelchairs. not mad though.

F- which is why we made a coaching change even with a historic buyout.

I predicted 8-4 which already wasnt acceptable and we finished 7-5. Far too much talent to have 3 seasons of: 8-4, 5-7, and 7-5.

Excited to see what Elko can do with the program.

I predicted 7-5 to 8-5 so I was pretty close... but the way it all went down was unpleasant. Never got the QB/WR play we were sold in the off season.

At least we got to end the season crushing of our in state rivals slim playoff hopes. So that felt good.

Passing game was clearly hamstrung by Milton. Injuries to the receiving group didn’t help. Defense showed some improvement, but still a long way to go. Secondary needs a major influx of talent. Special teams were very good. Listless performances on the road have become a trademark under Heupel. Also, team is very undisciplined for the most part. Those two things must get better or he won’t be here long.

Predicted 10-2. Could have had 12-0, next year. #STP

Solid B. Should have beaten Ole Miss on the road, but can't expect to beat Alabama every year, particularly on the road. Florida State was the best team LSU played all season, so not that upset about that loss. Nice win at top-10 Missouri and went undefeated at home.

All told, chance at back-to-back 10 win seasons in first two years of Kelly era is nice.

Lost year. As expected.

It was clear last year that Jimbo needed to go. I had some hope early in the season, that maybe Weigman at QB would jump start the offense and get us a decent season in spite of Jimbo's calling the offense like he's driving the pace car. Once Weigman went down, that sliver of hope was gone too.

I'm glad Jimbo got canned early. It was fun to watch the last couple games of the year, with the kids actually playing loose and enjoying themselves for a change. LSU game was the most fun I've had watching Aggie football in years, even though it was a loss.

Final assessment: mission accomplished. Jimbo gone. Now just need Elko to hold the team together and fill some gaps with the portal.

The season went pretty poorly. So bad was our play, that I became largely detached/ disinterested from college football mid season. Hopefully it gets fixed.

I still cannot believe you had a player get ejected for spitting.

Is there any reported issues between the players and coach?

I expected 10-2 or 11-1. Had I known this would be the worst defense i have ever seen at LSU I would have expected 6-6.

When the defense sucks as bad as LSU's it makes watching games tough.

Complete and utter failure. Way too many injuries. Way too many second-half collapses. Imagina leading...
17-7 in the second over Miami
17-10 at halftime over Bama
10-7 at halftime over Tenn
35-31 late 4th over Ole Miss
24-14 3rd quarter over Lsu
Only to lose all 5, 2 being not close.

It needed to happen so change could take place. The boosters stepped up and ended the Jimbo era. The good thing is the infrastructure is still intact. All the facilities, all the support, all the money for staff, and the 4th most talented roster.

Compared to my expectations:

Played bama/uga closer than I thought
Played LSU/aTm worse than I thought

Didn't see NMSU coming

I thought 7-5 was likely, but will take 6-6 with nice recruiting momentum

I think outside of UGA and Bama, every school in the SEC would take OM's season this year.

So A would be the grade.

See if we can roll out another 10+ win season next year to make it the new norm!

Could've been better, could've been worse. I think I predicted 8 wins and we got 7. Think we let a couple slip away due to poor execution and effort from some big skill position folks.

We'll see who all sits out our bowl game and whether that's attainable. I'll take 7-8 wins in a "down" season though any day.

I’ll give Freeze a B- just for the New Mexico St game failure. However, it’s my opinion he prepared for Bama and solely gave the reigns back to the OC for that game. I knew this year was a wash and wanted us to play hard against UGA/Bama.

I predicted 8-4 this year and it should have been achievable. Hindsight 20/20, CHF should have ripped the play calling away from our OC way earlier.

People don’t realize how bare Malzahn and Potato Head left us…. Hunter is the only one left on his original recruiting class.

Overall Bama has probably over achieved considering their QB situation. Never expected to make the SECCG or be in top 10.
