The BCS worked. This committee shite is bias depending on school Name. If Texas or Oklahoma were doing what Baylor and TCU are doing the Big 12 would have 2 teams in.

if there were a computer based system as you suggest, bama would be and is ranked ahead of Florida still.

Baylor, TCU, and Oklahoma State all control their own destiny.

And TCU has played a harder schedule. Period. Eye test is stupid. Who have you played, who have you beaten, who have you lost to?

It doesn't get any flukier than the helmet TD. The pop pass was horrific as well. Long developing plays like that HAVE to be cut out of the game. The 2 fumbles on kickoffs were back breaking as well. I really don't mean to bitch about the game, but I personally came away thinking "holy frick, Alabama is way better than this team....what did they just do?!" I actually thought Alabama should have won in spite of all that shite. The late game play calling was pitiful(this isn't an excuse, Kiffin sucks arse sometimes). After everything, Alabama had 29 first downs to OM's 19 and I think around 500 yards of offense, about 100 more than OM. I know all of that sounds pathetic, but it's just how I feel.

I didn't suggest anything about the computers, man.

The BCS rankings weren't broken. If a four team playoff had to be created then that's fine but there was no reason not to use the BCS rankings to determine the four teams other than wasting an opportunity to manipulate the rankings to make more money.
Well after that non deserving 2011 Alabama team made the championship, people HAD to have something other than the BCS. The BCS apparently failed the country that year.

the transitive property has never been and will never be how this works. the old bcs computers, human polls, strength of schedule, strength of record...all say bama is better.

Wait, so you think the fact that one team lost to a common opponent that the other team skull fricked should have no bearing?

You're special...

Other than that game, they have two other common opponents that both beat.

what I think is that at no point in time in any sport in the history of sports has that been how these kinds of things are decided. while the many objective criteria I listed are literally how they are currently decided.

Record against common opponents is absolutely part of the selection criteria, which is listed on the CFP website.

against common opponents...

As an LSU fan that was at the "GOTC", lemme say that when I left TTown, I said those two teams were the best two in the country, period.
I didn't LIKE that we had to play an extra game while Bama rested and gained more film, but I did agree that the best two teams played in the BCSNCG.

lol

I love when fans try to pretend they know the criteria, when they clearly don't.

Exactly, the BCS got it right per usual and it wasn't what alot of people wanted so it had to go.
