Florida Marlins have no fanbase and they are a professional team. People still respect the Yankees and Redwings even though they buy their titles

The issue with Auburn is with people who think they paid and think college athletes are not supposed to be paid

May seem hollow to you but believe me it is not to AU fans...and the fact that Malzhan is coming back +a buttload of talent suggests that AU has a very good chance of being good next year...but yes, even the biggest homers wouldn't pick AU to repeat at champs of anything.

I think it's fair to say that at this point...most fans of other teams and national media feel like we got away with something and that there will probably be more to this story POSSIBLY including enough evidence to be very problematic for AU. But your suggestion that 1. AU won't be back because they can't cheat again...um....2004 was 6 years ago. 2. That AU is not a consistent player on the national scene...um...2004 was 6 years ago.

I'm still awaiting someone to provide "proof" that AU cheated; repeating false accusations do not prove anything but give an excuse as to why the rest of the SEC failed to defeat Auburn....... This is a Cecil Newton issue, not AU...

No... the only ones claiming cheating are the ones that know Cecil shopped his son to Miss St for 180k, and arent buying the lame arse excuse that Cam didnt know. One of your former players recently claimed that he was paid. LSU self-reported giving him improper benefits, as well as a host of other violations. The NCAA is going to punish you, at the very least, for what your school has formally admitted to.

The NCAA is investigating your program as we speak.

Oh, and "it's OK, we fired the coach involved in that and self-imposed a two scholarship reduction when we didn't have room to sign a full class anyway" is not going to pass on that.

So cross your own fingers.

I agree. Auburn doesn't get A LOT of respect like they would if they were USC, LSU, Texas, Alabama, Florida, Nebraska, Notre Dame.


It's just a prestige thing. Plus their fan base isn't very big compared to these other schools too.
