'07 LSU was a fricking joke. At least this team won it all on the field and didn't have to rely on a ridiculous amount of teams to lose, just to back into the game. And to think Less just got another 7 years out of that lucky horseshoe. :

i've never understood this logic. if lsu was a joke in 2007 who the hell was so great that year? lsu was the best that year. if there was someone better, why did they lose two or more games? It's not like lsu didn't spank a top 10 vtech, top ten ohio state, beat a top 10 south carolina, beat a top 25 Au and Tenn. don't many others could say the same.

Lets see, they beat 8 teams in the top 25 and had the Heisman and Lombardi winner. They were the talk of the nation the last half of the year (Not only for Camgate). I was in New York over the holidays and cab drivers were talking about Auburn. If you go underfeated and win the BCSNC you get a lot more respect than a one or TWO loss champion.

I will say this, I am absolutely heartbroken that our rivals don't respect the fact that we won. I just can't get over it, its so devastating.

And we did it all without cheating, lying and covering up. Atleast we don't need to keep our fingers crossed for the next 2 or 3 yrs.

I think Auburn has the respect on the field. It' just everyone knows they did some shady dealing to get Cam and who knows about the rest. I for one respect just about every NC in my lifetime it is very hard to accomplish in college football. The only one I can really say I don't is BYU in 84 played noone and then beat Ohio State who did not win the big 10 that year.

That's the best part about it There are going to be some people waiting for the hammer to drop.

I feel bad for the players not the fans though. Example: Fairley put in serious time at Auburn. He was dedicated. Never have I seen such superb WWE wrestling moves performed in the name of one school's drive to win. To have all of that time spent studying Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, and Superfly Jimmy Snooka go to waste would be a shame.

I posted this same thought the other day and the Aubs (WDE24, villager, etc.) got pissed.

I can honestly say I've never gotten "pissed" by anything you've said. Maybe you're confusing me laughing at you with something else

Lay off people-Auburn won the NC this year and no one has proven they did anything wrong according to the NCAA or SEC. So they deserve their moment just like the rest of us did.

LSU 2007 might not be considered the greatest of all time, but they were the best team that year, hence the whole championship thing. Who was better than them that year?

I am not saying that Auburn was not the best on the field. But with Cam and Fairley being one and done and the cheating allegations, all that on field greatness seems very hollow.

Its why no one will remember Jose Canseco in baseball. Great stats, but he cheated.

Its also why the Florida Marlins aren't respected, even though they've won 2 titles. They bought the championships amd then dismantled the team afterwards.

in all honesty Silicon, the realist aubie fans are taking a wait and see mentality, and all agree if somethign does come out of it and we lose it - then we deserve whatever we get.

as I stated before, ill be more disapointed for players like Burns or Zeimba - they played a hell of a season, and ill be more upset for them getting drug down than losing the title.

Not that I can think of. . .

07 LSU would be close, but not quite.

99 FSU is close, too. . .
