isn't that the former body guard of that MTV skater host?

From what little I watched the show, he's pretty funny

So let me get this straight. According to you, your manager being a graduate is a connection, but you being an actual fan is not?

Knowing someone who went there is a connection. Being a fan, regardless of whether or not you know someone who attended, not a connection. Wow.

Yes according to him, Katy Perry went to her first game this week to be on tv, and it was more of a connection than someone simply choosing to go to a game. I am sure they didn't know anyone at the university. They just saw Bo Wallace on the field and thought, "man that's my team right there."

If he simply went to the game, which he did, I would say he has more connections than Katy Perry.

I'm confused. Are you trying to say Perry didn't go to our game?

Not really. Minor connection, at best.

I'm a fan of the Saints...doesn't mean I have any actual connection to the team. Just because some guy in Nashville roots like hell for the Oregon Ducks...that doesn't mean he has a connection to the school.

This thread is full of little brother. Instead of State fans talking about their GameDay this weekend, they keep bring up Katy Perry and Ole Miss from last weekend.

Lil bro gonna lil bro.

I met someone that won the Heisman. Flattered to have just found out I have a connection to the Heisman Trophy.

So you're acting like her only connection to the school is being in oxford on Saturday and completely ignoring her two other connections?

gotcha....no wonder you consider anyone ever born in Starkville to be apart of the Mississippi state.

Pretty sad. I'm trying to discuss possible MSU gameday guest pickers and all they can talk about is Katy perry and Ole Miss.

That's what happens to most State threads when pank enters with his little bro semantics arguments.

Oh and we can at least claim Perry likes OM more than any other college team.

She also mentioned OM/said Hotty toddy 3 times at her concert Sunday. It's not like we just randomly bought some celebrity

I entered the thread discussing relevant topics to the OP.

Rice has donated to the university, hosts an annual golf tournament, and visits with the football staff. Goes to games, makes appearances in Starkville. And somehow you're still trying to hold up the claim that Katy Perry has more of a connection to OM than Rice has to State.

Never mind the fact that a good chunk of his friends and family are graduates of the university, and live in Starkville. Which according to your definition of a connection, would classify him as having pretty strong affiliation.

It's not like this is all some sort of new thing regarding Katy Perry and Ole Miss. Hell...we had her do the AYR on the video board back in '09 or '10.
