We didnt force you to hire a coach who relies on a gimmick. Id be scared if I were him too. If this passes he will be back in HS soon.

Does Gus want that proposal to get sidelined until a rule change year also?

Was he asked?
IDK?

I'm just wondering if he has petitioned for ALL proposal's to be considered in a rule change year. I hope the targeting rule (15 yrd penalty) gets changed immediately - it's a bullshite rule. I just hope Gus doesn't get that one tabled till next year.

I guess the question should be is this the appropriate time to implement the rule. My understanding was that only rules that involved player safety can be proposed during the "off" year. The change to the targeting rule isn't about player safety, imho, but about common sense.

The quote was for Calhouns proposal. Not sure who brought up the targeting rule.

Also not sure why we have certain years dedicated to make rule changes. If something can be fixed, fix it. Don't wait.

Or if he's lucky, Saban will hire him at his car dealership. Imagine that, a snakeoil salesman selling cars? Can anyone say schadenfreude?

Lively hood? If you mean livelihood, I would think you would approve of that - seeing as how your coach tried to sneak in a rule change to better his "lively hood." Gus is willing to have the matter discussed fairly and not try to do things the cowardly way.

I'm all for equal and fair exposure for all parties involved. I just hope like hell Gus doesn't frick up the targeting rule change and gets it tabled till the official "rule change year", I think that dumbass rule needs to be changed pronto.

Can the rules committee be selective as to what proposals get evaluated and considered and which ones don't in a non-rule change year?

snapping the ball when the ref signals the play to begin is not cowardly.

No, the boxers have a set of decorum they adhere too in order to keep the dirty elements like that out. Would be nice if football coaches felt the same.

Like informing all coaches of possible rule change agendas that would be brought up to the committee?

These poor ref's are going to get grilled this year - I bet ole Roger Redding's arse is tight as a drum. He and Slive will be pressed pretty hard to "educate" the officiating crew about controling the pace of the game.

Does anyone really expect any other answer when asking a coach if they would accept a gay player on their team?
