Saban knows that if he loses two in a row to Gus that it is going to hurt his image. He's the best in the business because he doesn't lose two in a row.....plus he wins tons of championships and shite like that. His image in very important for his success....recruiting, begging for title shots, changing rules singlehandedly (we all know Bielemia has no pull).

Since when is a read option a gimmick? Seems that people who say this are misinformed and dont have any idea of how real football is played

He doesn't run a gimmick offense and anyone who says otherwise isn't worth wasting your breath on. We run an odd school power offense we just do it from the shotgun in most cases and use pace when it suits is.
The rule is pretty much dead and I must say it is funny watching Saban take a beating in the press. He's struggled against spread teams and is desperate to find a way to go back to his style of play and not adapt.
