You don't think I knew JJ was cut? quote:Don't you think that what you call berating is just a little blow-back from all the Gus-is-God posts by Auburn folks? No I think it's pure stupidity.

my point exactly. I was stating that just because bama has sent QBs to the league, it doesn't meant they produce great QBs. Any starting QB in the SEC will at least get looked at.

Cool, man. Good talk. Feel free to head back over to tardfans at any point.

bottom line is, outside of mccarron, saban's QB development at bama has been dogsh*t... he didn't recruit and sign either of JPW or McElroy.
how would we even know if this the "bottom line" when we havent seen any Saban QBs besides AJ, Greg, and JPW? Those are the only examples we have. Dumb statement.

so their fans should shut the frick up about Gus.

Strange decision, I don't remember a HC doing something like this before.

You know this how?
Have you sat in on a Whitfield session or even seen a piece of one?
Things like learning better footwork won't be used?

Haven't the last four starting Alabama QBs (incl. McCarron)gone to the NFL?
Sorry, I don't remember any successful bammer QBs in the NFL, but that's probably just faulty memory. It's one thing to get all those nick-coached players to the NFL and another to have them turn out to be massive failures when they get there.
This is a college game, and if our coach has his eye on winning every game he can with the players who are coached to fit his schemes, more power to him.

well, yea. But the point still remains that Gus has done a good job with the QBs he's coached and recruited. And bama hasn't put out any Heisman winners under Saban, so their fans should shut the frick up about Gus.
saban is so great at developing QB's, they had to go get a back-up.....and hope and pray he can play. If not, they are fricked.

in what regard?
The discussion here is about how Alabama fans can't say anything in regards to QB development when they have consistently had mediocre QB play under Saban.
AU is the one school in the SEC with a Heisman winning QB in the last decade. Period. Gus does a good job with the types of players he brings in.

He's the Auburn head coach--that's his call.
I'm sure he has his reasons.
But if I'm a big-time QB/parent of a QB recruit coming out of HS, you can bet I'm taking Gus's micromanagement into consideration when deciding on a school that wants what's best for me/my son in the long run.
That's the great thing about 'merica. Choices.

You are speaking as if no training for the QB's are taking place. Does Sumlin send his QB's to Whitfield?

So AJ's play was "mediocre" in his time at Alabama? As an LSU fan, you should know better than that.
Why is an LSU fan knighting so hard for Auburn anyway? strange.

So now you're comparing Bama to LSU? Can you manage to stay on topic for just one goddamn post?
Oh and Mett > Mccarron in the NFL. STTDB

How is it micromanagement, he has how many qb coaches/experts on staff currently? 3 or 4, he doesnt want too many cooks in the kitchen, plain and simple

So you came into the gus thread and you're asking folks not to talk about your coach?
Great start to the week.
