If this is what Bama fans really believe, I'm totally fine with it.

Let the ignorant remain ignorant still.

"You're seeing flashes of some of those throws," Whitfield said. "He's with, arguably, one of the best quarterback coaches on the planet with what coach Malzahn has done and what he can do with different body types, different models of guys."

Might I just interject something?

It is truly amazing the offseason arguments that get manufactured around here just out of a sense of pure boredom. We seem to just come up with random stuff to get other fanbases riled up with. Crazy stuff to say the least. Please carry on with this utterly insane, baseless, yet entertaining confrontation...

Haven't the last four starting Alabama QBs (incl. McCarron)gone to the NFL?

you know who else made an NFL roster? Jordan Jefferson. The argument I was making wasn't that Alabama has done a bad job with QBs, it's that Bama fans have no room to berate Gus.

Uhhh....ok
"Jefferson went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft, but was invited to try-out at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' rookie minicamp.[14] The team signed Jefferson to a contract on May 7, 2012,[15] but was waived four days later so that Tampa Bay could have a replacement for Da'Quan Bowers, a projected starter who suffered a probable season-ending injury."

Don't you think that what you call berating is just a little blow-back from all the Gus-is-God posts by Auburn folks?

bottom line is, outside of mccarron, saban's QB development at bama has been dogsh*t... he didn't recruit and sign either of JPW or McElroy.

It's why he's had to turn to a quick fix transfer in year 8 of his tenure... pretty sad, to be honest.

If you are referring to Saban, then all I can say is come back when Gus has 3 or 4 Natties under his belt, then let the shite-talking begin.

You just made my point! If he didn't recruit nor sign JPW or McElroy, then he must have coached them into a position to be able to enter the league. As far as what comes out of the QB competition for 2014, neither you nor I know who'll be under center when the season starts.

The fact it may hinder an Auburn QB's chances at getting a successful start in the league is secondary.

So now he is a NFL QB? Frick I can't keep up with you people.

Also looks like the OP likes to lurk the Auburn board...

I do have to hand it to Gus though, the massive failure of his prized possession Kiehl Frazier is probably what led to Chizik being fired

well, yea. But the point still remains that Gus has done a good job with the QBs he's coached and recruited. And bama hasn't put out any Heisman winners under Saban, so their fans should shut the frick up about Gus.

Pointless thread. It would be a waste of time to try and make Marshall into something he is not. Whitfield can't make Phillip anymore of a QB than Gus can.

so trying to improve your play is pointless?

good lord this board sometimes...

No sense in teaching a kid a bunch of stuff he's never going to use in a game.
