It is truly amazing the offseason arguments that get manufactured around here just out of a sense of pure boredom. We seem to just come up with random stuff to get other fanbases riled up with. Crazy stuff to say the least. Please carry on with this utterly insane, baseless, yet entertaining confrontation...
Just wait till the long, hot, dog days of summer hit us and there's absolutely nothing worth a shite to talk about. That's when the real craziness abounds.

So AJ's play was "mediocre" in his time at Alabama? As an LSU fan, you should know better than that.

If AJ is the only QB Bama fans can bring to the table, then it further proves my point.

Why is an LSU fan knighting so hard for Auburn anyway? strange.

I recognize stupidity. Bama fans calling out AU for bad QB development is hilarious when you look at the talent Bama has recruited that has not panned out.

And I KNOW LSU has had terrible QB development up until recently. That's not my point.

But if I'm a big-time QB/parent of a QB recruit coming out of HS, you can bet I'm taking Gus's micromanagement into consideration when deciding on a school that wants what's best for me/my son in the long run.

I would hope so - since that micromanagement has produced a Heisman winner, 2 SEC championships, and 2 trips to the national championship game.

So now he is a NFL QB? Frick I can't keep up with you people.

Also looks like the OP likes to lurk the Auburn board...

lol. My thoughts exactly. I thought it was accepted that NM was not NFL talent. Isn't that the centerpiece of their argument on why we won't be any good?

This thread makes me want to continue to keep other fans out. Thanks for lurking OP. No, you may not have board access.

Your dumbass ever heard of a context clue? I was making a statement that a SEC QB making it to the NFL is not some major feat. Someone managed to give JJ a shot (albeit for 4 days). Ryan Perilloux even got a chance.

Talk shite about AU's QB development when bama has produced a Heisman trophy winner at QB.

That's all I'm sayin'.

playing in shite duty is not quite the same as being the multi-year starter either

Ya got me.

Point still remains though.

2 out of 6 on QB's bodes great for Auburn's future.
Doesn't matter. We still won the SEC and made it to the national championship without a quarterback according to tards like you

Any Auburn fan who gets caught up in the argument about Gus developing quarterbacks is a tard as well. As long as Gus keeps winning who cares if the tards on this board think he can develop quarterbacks

Sorry, I don't remember any successful bammer QBs in the NFL
Let's see now.....Bart Starr, Joe Namath, Kenny Stabler, Harry Gilmer, etc. etc. You're either about 10 years old or you don't know shite...or both. My bet's on the last option.

Gus is as good as there is with JUCO QB's, no arugment.

He still has yet to develop a single high school QB recruit that's worth a shite though.

Greg Mcelroy was a mediocre QB who played over his head in quite a few big games in his career at Alabama. JPW? He won 12 games his senior season. TWELVE. JPW!

Who hasnt panned out for us? Are you saying that just because a QB didnt win the starting job, he "didnt pan out", and that is somehow our coach's fault? None of the starting QBs under Saban have been inadequate. I do not see your point.

How is it micromanagement, he has how many qb coaches/experts on staff currently? 3 or 4, he doesnt want too many cooks in the kitchen, plain and simple

Like I said--it's his call.
He's the HC.
To answer your question ... sometimes it's helpful to solicit feedback from external evaluators--folks who can be brutally honest w/o running the risk of violating the internal biases that are inherent in human nature.
It's similar to policy rationale held by top universities who won't hire their own graduates as professors--diversity of thought and opinion.
Different strokes, that's all.
Kids are free to choose Auburn; and/or they're free to choose alternately.
