Is OP mad that it is a home and home? I wish we would play those. Neutral sites suck

The real opposition about these games, is that some teams are not considered "good draws" and are not invited. These teams that remain on the outside looking in, always are the first to criticize these games.

good lord, your delusion is showing

[quote]Think about this: If Alabama goes to the national title game in 2015 the team would play 4 games in neutral site NFL stadiums. Like I said, minor league NFL. With the new playoff the last thing we need is regular season neutral games.

Fortunately or Unfortunately depending on your view, these OOC neutral site games are going to be here to stay particularly as we move into the playoff era. I think these games are going to be increasingly important. If Bama goes out and kicks the shite out of USC, that is going to get major national exposure put us in the forefront of the polling process and the subsequent playoff selection. Teams are going to need to start showing how they compete against the other major conferences. All part of the NFL-ization of college football.

What does a neutral site game do for national exposure? I get it if they were crappy teams, but a game like USC/Bama is going to have the same national exposure either way.

Sure USC/Bama is going to be maybe the biggest game kicking off the 2016 season. You don't think kicking off the season with a win over USC helps get voters attentions? It is a marquee match-up.

My point was these neutral site games are going going to increase in importance in the play-off era and other less "marquee" names than Bama or USC or going to need to step-up and get into them to help them in the polling and selection process.

I guess you need to play those type of games when you are finishing second, or third, in the West. You can try and beg your way into the playoff by saying "we played a decent team on a neutral site". It may work.

At least y'all get a good home and home OOC. I'm frankly tired of neutral site games

This is my thought process. I'm just glad we get a home-away with someone in the SEC. MUCH better than a neutral site or some rent-a-win. I can also see why the Aubies are bored of it.

O well, see yal in 2 years !

GaTech and AU fan bases appear to both want a play each other so why can't the schools make it happen?

IF AU has to play an ACC team, Id rather do a home and home with UNC, UVA, or VT.

no, because we play Clemson...again

this will be the 5th and 6th time we've played them in an 11 year span, assuming we don't play them in any bowls in the next 3 years

The game itself is obviously paramount not so much the location. I'm sorry but Texas Stadium is a better experience vs. BDS or Jordan Hare. That said, the importance of these OOC games is increasing therefore how best to facilitate? They are going to have to be neutral site mostly becuase its easier for both fan bases to attend. How many USC fans do you think would travel to Tuscaloosa vs. DFW? How many USC alumni do you think live in Alabama? How much easier is to fly to DFW from the west coast than to Tuscaloosa? How many more hotel rooms are their in DFW vs. Tuscaloosa? What sort of amenities does DFW offer vs. Tuscaloosa?

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of USC fans don't give a frick how nice Bama's campus is or care much about the "tailgating experience" or visiting BDS. They do care about the game and will attend if its convenient for them. I imgaine this holds true for fans from other parts of the country as well.

easier then attending a home game? How is a game in texas easier for either fanbase to attend then LA or T-Town
