Watch the video. His helmet clearly hits Murray's helmet. Should have been called. There is zero reason for that to be missed.

AJ was crying like a baby after he was hit and they called it right away. The fact that one was called and one was not highlights why so many people claim favoritism in SEC officiating.

If Slive had any balls he would suspend him.

I mean look back on the hit that they suspended Ole Misses safety for. Not nearly as vicious.

There were MANY calls that should have been called that weren't against Bama. I can think of 2 PI where they obviously hit the UGA WR early an weren't called.

You dumb arse bammers are delusional, that was a dirty helmet to helmet hit. At least I admit when Fairley was being a thug POS. That right there is thug POS. Won't be playing in the title game.

Anyone have the helmet-to-helmet rule handy. I tried looking but I'm google-challenged.

Lots of fail on both sides in this thread. It wasn't a penalty because (a) Dial did not lead with the crown (top) of his helmet, and (b) Murray was not a defenseless player. The rules treat a passer who has just released the ball (McCarron) as a defenseless player, but not a defender looking to make a tackle (Murray)...regardless of how half-assed Murray was pursuing the play.

Lots of people here should actually spend a few minutes reading the rule book. I'm not going to copy and paste...you can read for yourselves.

You're welcome.

You might want to look around Rule 9.

It's funny how this narrative has turned. First it was OMG that was so dirty that he hit him there (obvious horseshite, there was nothing illegal about hitting Murray in that case, and defensive players love to take out a QB on an interception return) to holy shite it was helmet to helmet.

It was helmet to helmet and should have been a penalty but the rantards never disappoint.

If the Murray hit was called and the AJ hit was not called it could have been the difference. Murray call made Bama may not have got the FG. AJ call not made Bama may not have scored. Bama fans might have burned Ritter's house down and Slive would have helped.
