Malzahn is overhyped as a QB coach.

Most folks I know, even a lot of Auburn fans, say he's not a good QB coach. He hasn't yet developed a QB since he's been at Auburn. He might have in high school, which, granted, wasn't long ago.

Did Nick Marshall concern you when he set school records on your lord and savior's defense?

Marshall was 27-of-43 for 456 yards, three touchdowns and an interception, racking up 505 yards of total offense

Well he hasn't been the QB coach since he's been back at Auburn in 2013, but take a look at Nick Marshall's QB numbers at UGA, in JUCO compared to 2013. Then again in 2014. They did a pretty good job at bringing him along, I'd say.

Malzahn missed with Jeremy Johnson, but other than that has had a lot of success with different QBs.

Cam was not a can't miss prospect out of JUCO, Nick was a defensive back from UGA, White is a small, weak armed QB that did well.

I am not saying he is a great developer or QBs, but I know of only one pure failure and that was JJ who had all the tools except the one between the ears.

He whiffed with Frazier and Mosely too.

He doesn't have a good eye for HS QB talent.

Mosely

Yeah but nobody expected much out of him either. He was taken because of his Mr. Football acclaim, but I think he was only a 3*.

Why didn't he know Stidham was a dual threat QB?

I'm pretty sure that Danielson knows exactly the type QB Stidham is. I don't think that he's too impressed with his ability to run in this league. Long story made short...the guy ain't Cam or Marshall quality threat....we'll see!

Definitely not, but he's a hell of a lot more mobile than White (and hopefully a better passer than all of them).
I just say that because people see a white kid and don't realize he's always been tagged as a DT.

The intrigue around the guy coming into the program, I'm sure makes for exciting preseason anticipation for Auburn fans....and that's what makes it fun.

So Gary does not know that Gus just hired a new OC to move away from running q.b. scheme?

Gary forgets that for 3 years Gus Malzahn did not have a running quarterback. 2007, 2008, 2009, and he set passing records all three years. People forget that Chris Todd broke Pat Sullivan's touchdown record.

I think Gus became too predictable when he had a running quarterback and it got him out of what brought him there

We won't know anything about Stidham until the Clemson, where he will actually see a good Defense for the first time in his career.

Cam and Marshall both struggled early in the season, during 10 and 13. Neither of them had to face the caliber of team that Stidham will face so early in the year.

2014 Nick Marshall was arguably the best player in the country. He had an incredible year and was done in by our pathetic defense. That, and Gus never fully let him loose. Had he just let NM go johnny football on everyone in 2014 Auburn is 11-1 heading to SECCG instead of a loaded 8-4 disappointment. I like what I see from Lindsey but I won't get excited until it is proven Gus will give up control.

Nick Marshall has no QB numbers at UGA. Nick Marshall was a DB at UGA.

No fricking shite, asshat. It was a joke. But it illustrated my point about QB development.
