quote:You're an idiot. Danielson is widely known for the time he puts in analyzing the different SEC teams and their personnel. The guy was a solid NFL QB for years and his knowledge of the game is highly respected by everybody in the business.
Another case of the media repeating something they heard someone else say and not doing their own research. Look at Gus's Offense at Tulsa (lead the nation) and his first at AU with Todd.

Why didn't he know Stidham was a dual threat QB?

Im pretty anxious to see how the change of pace works. Stidham needs to be completely bought in to make it shine.
I remember Paul Johnson recruited Vad Lee in 2010 and he played in 2012. He was not a triple option QB. He was a finesse pocket passer capable of running outside the pocket. PJ installed diamond packaged and shotgun packages rather than the typical flexbone undercenter formation. Got mixed results. Vad didnt buy into the runninb side of it and our offense bogged down. He transferred after that one year.
Certainly pulling for AU and Stidham though! GTs 2012 offense ran a lot like Gus's minus the hurry up.

That offense ran up numbers on bad teams and had nothing more than averaged numbers against every decent defense they played.

Danielson has a short memory. Two words...........Chris Todd.

Yet Auburn led bama for over 58 minutes of the IB.

Chris Todd's Power 5 only numbers were not good. His big numbers were almost entirely against 1AA and Sun Belt teams.

And had 15 1st downs and 330 yards of total offense. Auburn almost won that game because of a fantastic defensive effort and a few great wrinkle calls from Malzahn.
He was 8th in the SEC in QB Rating vs SEC teams only, ahead of only Jevan Snead and Tyson Lee. In those 8 SEC games he threw 6 TDs and 5 INTs.
He was the Drew Lock of 2009.

Has Malzahn had a QB that throws the ball as well as Stidham. It's not necessarily about the system, but the QB's actual capabilities. Stidham is a stud.

I wouldn't want to use Stidham like a dual threat in a zone option scheme.

He likes to hear himself talk. His research is shite.

Unless the dual threat is playing football and stealing laptops, i'm not too concerned

Malzahn is overhyped as a QB coach. He got blessed with Cam Newton and had one great season(2013) with Nick Marshall.
2014 Nick Marshall was nowhere near the Quality of 2013. And They have had QB trouble the past two seasons.
Am I the only one doubting preseason Heisman winner Jeremy Johnson 2.0? He hasn't played football for a year and a half.

Are you high? Nick Marshall progressed big time as a passer in 2014.
2013:
1976 yards, 59%, 14 TD, 6 INT, 143.2 rating
2014:
2532 yards, 61%, 20 TD, 7 INT, 151.1 rating

Last season Sean White led the SEC and was top 5 in the NCAA in completion % and passer rating before he broke his throwing arm.
He completed 72% of his passes and only threw 1 INT in the 8 games that he started healthy. 6 of those 8 games were SEC btw.
You have ZERO clue what you're talking about

No it wasn't. It was making a few good plays. Not big plays and the red zone offense was the worst thing I have ever seen

Im glad he isnt buying into the hype. Auburn plays better when they are doubted

I disagree, but that's your opinion. Compare what that offense looked like compared to JF 3 or JJ running it. White was even picking up yards on the ground. He was at least serviceable and we had a somewhat balanced offense.
G
us has always had redzone scoring issues. He freaks the hell out when he gets inside the 20. Having big play players like Marshall, Mason, Cam, Duke etc. mask that because they were able to break big plays open and not have to rely on competent playcalling in that area.

Danielson openly cheers for the other team when Auburn is playing on CBS. I would expect no different from him. He's fricking terrible. I hate when Auburn has to play on CBS.
