Either the reporters don't know anything or McElwain has successfully fooled everybody this offseason.

Wow.

I will say Treon has faced the toughest competition in both high school and then was thrown into the fire as a true freshman last year.

Won't be shocked at all if he shows major improvement.

Once you account for Muschamp, Treon actually had a kind of remarkable year for a true freshman, especially one who didn't enroll early- 4-2 record (two extremely close losses, one to a program on a 20+ game winning streak), a 4th quarter comeback from two scores down in a relief role, a decent ypa and QBR, he just needs a higher completion percentage.

I don't care who starts as long as they are winners, I also think this is far from over so no real reason to get too worked up over this decision. He is the starter for game 1, not the whole season. Somebody had to take the first snap.

Grier is every bit good of a runner as Harris though, Grier had 3,000 yards and 31 rushing TDs in high school.

Watch some of his highlights, I trust the passing to transfer if he can adjust to the speed of the game (after all he looked decent in various All star competitions) but he was running against teams where he was bigger than the linemen and he's not a big guy.

If you're playing for 2016 then you Dont want to throw your furure qb to the wolves.

Give him garbage time reps to boost his confidence.

The platonic ideal of Will Muschamp football.

It was going to be about who moved the offense better, elevated the players around him
Grier is sort of a quiet "lead by example" guy, which is to say he doesn't show much emotion and doesn't really get the other players fired up (see Driskel, Brantley). "Lead by example" types tend to not lead very well. Chris Leak did much better when he came out of his shell a little bit his Senior year.

Grier:

I'm not a rah-rah guy. I lead by example.

Nothing you've said is important to me. You don't mind proving your idiocy. That's cool.

lol. I can't wait to see what Barrett Sallee's stupid arse will say.

With Martez Ivey not likely to play, seems like that OL is going to be pretty bad game one so they want the more mobile guy our there first.

I actually still believe Grier would be great for what McElwain ran at Co St, but it's not like Harris can't run it. Grier played in a heavy shotgun spread offense in high school and Harris played in a heavy run oriented offense in high school. This offense is different than both.

Robinson the WR could turn out to be this year's Cooper, Higgins, White, or Corey Davis.
