Treon Harris will start for the Gators on Saturday, but Will Grier will come in and play.

Either the reporters don't know anything or McElwain has successfully fooled everybody this offseason.

I will say Treon has faced the toughest competition in both high school and then was thrown into the fire as a true freshman last year.
Won't be shocked at all if he shows major improvement.

I will be, competition doesn't improve arm strength. People say that Treon has more escapability, but I don't understand how they can say that after watching Grier play.

I think its more about Treon having experience from last year and earning his shot to get the first crack at the job. I think it will still depend on who performs better on Saturday.

His arm is fine. Just because a QB can't fastball it doesn't mean he can't throw well enough.

This is pretty surpising. I wonder how playing time will be split. A half each? Switching off every few series?

Does McElwain have any history running zone/read option? It would be interesting to run that to compensate for a weaker OL.

He ran a lil of that at Fresno State. Mainly a curveball to throw the defense.
