Someone get Samuel L. Jackson to ask this dumb a$$ if he speaks English please. Then kill his mother; for not aborting him.

I wouldn't pass it either.

Problem is when your up 3 scores in the 4th it might be a decent opportunity to pass a bit and give your true freshman a chance to acclimate to passing in the SEC. Its yet another of those things Muschamp never understood-- basically as soon as we got a 2 score (or even 1 score at times) lead on anybody he'd park the bus and start running it into the line, a side effect of which was that our QBs never really got any chances to develop and only passed in must pass situations.

I swear the man was like Rainman as a coach- he just didn't understand anything whatsoever outside of defensive "X's and O's" and thus would do anything to improve his defensive metrics even to the detriment of development, team cohesion or talent level (ask any Florida fan about how every single player who was listed as an athlete or played both ways in HS always got tried out on defense first even when we were short of numbers on offense-- Tim Tebow is an all-SEC MLB under Boom and Florida averages 7.5 wins a year during his time on campus, peaking in 2009 when he teams with freshman star Cam Newton-- playing the buck position a DE/LB hybrid to lead the best defense in the nation, unfortunately the team only scores 17 points a game and fails to make it to Atlanta).

With Martez Ivey not likely to play, seems like that OL is going to be pretty bad game one so they want the more mobile guy our there first.

Dude New Mexico State is...awful. I put 200 on the spread for UF not because I have any faith in our offense, but because they are that bad. Their QB threw like 23 picks last year, our secondary may get him 4-6 times this game alone. Blood bath. Doesn't mean anything though, nor prove anything. Except that team is really bad.

This, they're not EMU bad (last years EMU team was one of the worse FBS teams in long time-- they were double digit dogs to a mid-level FCS team, Old Dominion) but they're pretty inept.

Well this is not what I was hoping

Given your oline situation, I really think this may be the best decision that could've been made. If the oline proves to be better than expected then Grier will likely take over the starting job if he's as good as many think he is. But there's nothing wrong with letting Grier get some snaps before forcing a start. He has talent - I think everyone who has followed him knows that but he doesn't yet have game experience.

That actually worries me then. This team is not good enough to go to Atlanta. So who cares about this year. Honestly, I don't want to try to win this year and go all in on it. This team isn't strong enough to win it all. SO build for next year when we have far more experience. Grier is the better passer of the two that's obvious from every report I've seen. Harris is more athletic, but Grier can run too. I don't want to see 10-20 type games. Sick of them. I want a QB who puts the ball between the numbers. Hopefully Harris has improved his accuracy. If so I'm all in for the kid. But his tape last year was not all that great overall. Mind you it was in Muschamp's death trap to all offensive players though

He hasn't been named the permanent starter. Someone was going to take the first snap, that person is going to be Treon.

Remember Brisset got the first start in 2012 and we all know who finished that season as the starter.

I know, just saying. I want the best QB for the future, not right now. It could be Treon or Grier. I was simply saying i hope the decision isn't purely based on who does better with the current roster.

I'm surprised by this. Grier is a really good fit for Coach Mac.

Interesting stuff. I wonder if Treon can actually win the job or if this is just window dressing.

I know that everyone is high on Grier, but Treon is a gamer, and with a decent coached offense, may actually be a good QB.

Yep. I put the bank on UF on that one. Put another 100 on UK covering and 200 on Bama outright

Who is Barrett Sallee?

Lead SEC guy on Bleacher Report that has been pimping Grier since McElwain hire and Driskel departure. Said he doesn't care what McElwain says to the media, that Grier is going to be the starting QB this year.

Like I said, I think Grier is going to be eventually the guy, but his pimping this thing all offseason is typical of him. He pimped Driskel last offseason hard arse hell.

Using your logic, Looks like the UF QB position is in trouble.

I'm not even talking about the game lol. I just got tired of Sallee pimping Grier like it was a given. I said it's likely he wasn't Harris to start because of Ivey not playing. Still think y'all will win by 30+

If we run a pro style offense with Harris as the starter then yes it's a year a junk. Harris is a stop gap QB at best . If he really beats Grier out for the starting job for the season then it's another wasted year . He is not the QB of the future. Hopefully this is just for now and coach Mac knows that Grier will do good enough to show every he should be the starter so the Harris supporters don't get up set.
