OMG Treon has played well in the last week and was the starter last year. It is reasonable that he gets the first snap. Both QBs will play. In coach Mac I trust he knows what he is doing. Grier has not played a snap in college, and our OL is suspect. Patience grasshopers.

I don't want to see 10-20 type games. Sick of them.

How old are you to be sick and tired of ANYTHING? Ive been a Gator since 1962...and I dont care if we win games 10-7, its a damn win. You are one of those folks who wanna see 55 throws a game....trust me we would end up 4-8 then. You have to run the ball (and stop the run) to win...period.

Back to qbs, Treon had sub .500% passing completion record and I watched him very carefully...he actually is NOT good at scrambling to avoid pressure most of the time and usually loses yards when he does....now in open field? He is definitely a runner that eludes tacklers.
His arm strength is average, he is 5'11" and that can be deterimental in seeing the field.

I cannot honestly rate Grier very well...spring game doesnt do anything. He is dating ex Tampa Bay Buc cheerleader and has eye for talent . I can judge some of his other abilities after New Mexico State and East Carolina.

By the way I disagree 100% with you 2008 about our chances of competing for SEC east...but thats just my opinion.....every team has warts (also in west) and no one thats picking UGA to win the east is talking about THEIR qb issues...geez why? Because they have Nick Chubb...who is a great RB...but guess what? You stack 8 men on the line and dare the UGA qb to beat you.

Our Kelvin Taylor is pretty fine RB also and I think he will show why he was heavily recruited this year...his dad really didnt show his stuff that much til junior year. We also have Scarlett and Kronkite behind him...I think thats why Lane hit the bricks?

2008...do you wanna borrow my O&B sunglasses?

f he really beats Grier out for the starting job for the season then it's another wasted year . He is not the QB of the future.

Who's to say we're going to run a traditional pro style offense-- we already know McElwain prefers to run more of a spread approach than an old school Bama style Pro style attack he ran in Tuscaloosa (see what he did at CSU once he was able to make his own decisions), why would adding so read option elements really be that bad-- hell, Bama themselves utilized a more mobile QB last season and had their most prolific offense of the Saban era.

Our best safety EVER was Louis Oliver # 18...6'1 225, track athlete who competed in track n field at UF..was walk on at UF for football...Academic AA...first round pick by Miami Dolphins and my favorite quote from him "I like to hear their teeth clatter when I hit em". He and Jarvis Williams (RIP) were together at UF in the late 1980s ...Jarvis was second round pick...both brought the lumber and receivers told their qbs to not throw high.

Oliver was from the Everglades area...chased rabbits as a kid.
