Yeah it's making traffic a nightmare. Cooper is having to soak up the extra cars moving between Harrodsburg, nicholasville, and TC roads. That said, it doesn't affect my commute so frick it.

I would love to see the Beer Barrel return, too.

The games were far more fun and competitive with the Keg/Barrel. Fans and outsiders who haven't paid much attention to the series probably don't realize that despite UT having won something like the last 30 minus 1 game UK won, those games were often highly competitive when the barrel was there and UK could've won many of them. I miss the added pride it brings to both teams.

If MADD gets its panties in a wad we should just pain "ICE WATER" on it like we did during Prohibition.

Oh Lord. When did they shut it down? Had to have been while I was on vacation.

Sorry, I truly didn't mean to was just trying to say the series has been more competitive than a lot of folks think and the keg/barrel added to it.

Oh I know what you meant. But the games being so close for so long, and the cats finding new and more torturous ways to lose really stirred the fire of hatred in my soul.

The Florida streak never bothered me. They just blew us out in the first quarter and got it over with. Tennessee on the other hand dragged us through four quarters of heartbreak annually. And then a little known WR came along :D

Baseball season is over so runs between The Cliff and Sal's are done till after the new road is done. That being said, that is a real handy way to get around the traffic snarls created by poor city council decisions when it come to development the past 20 years.

We're still sore over that WR.

As for the series there's a weird factoid (we play UK/Vandy last although the order sometimes differs): if we blow out one then we will scratch and claw the next game just to win. It's apparently been like that for several decades. Maybe because it's too much to ask a team to get up for back to back rivals.

And back with the Keg... I know it had to be heartbreaking at times to lose such close games but at the same time y'all took some of our best teams (top teams period) down to the wire. If UK could've played everyone the way y'all played us it would be a different world.

Good news for you is that I think you've got a decent coach now although it may take more time to rebuild than folks would like. Still, I'm hoping you get bowl eligible (I'm a border kid). :D

Stoops shouldn't make decisions that last more than one year. If he does well he leaves. If he does poorly he is fired

BTW, Kentuckers I have to admit that I was a bit put off by the initial graphics that made your end zones look like a lot like a UT rip-off but seeing it being installed it doesn't look that way. It's different enough and so far they look good. However, since I'm family with y'all and even cheer for you when we don't play I reserve the right to pick on you at any time over it.

That said, I'm disappointed about the artificial turf aspect.

Generally I'm not a fan of fake turf, but I do think this will look good.

: kige :

Due to weather tho I can see why they went that route. I still like real mud games on real turf especially if it works in your favor as the home team.

2 days in, it's coming along pretty well. I'm liking the new look. Can't wait for the stadium and field to be finished.

Seems like they've picked up the pace over the last couple of days. I don't see a scenario where this field takes a month to lay down like some say. Doesn't make sense to me.
