I don't really see any way around it.

If a business does things one way for years, then a new high level manager comes in and things now operate more efficiently, you dont' think he is the reason for it? If not pruitt, why were we busing to atlanta for so long, why did we not have a full support staff, etc?

The biggest difference philosophy wise is Grantham focused on the front 7 and Pruitt focuses on the back 7.

And we've got Tracy Rocker to focus on the DL as opposed to having Scott Lakatos for our DB coach under TG...

Bama fans can talk that kinda crap to us. Tennessee fans damn sure can't. Unless you want to dive into the last 10 years of your program compared to ours, which I doubt.

Leave it to a UGA fan to try to change the context of the discussion. We are talking about Richt's waste of talent.

He didn't hire Jere Morehead.

interesting, there's something else that UGA fans are known for worldwide that I didn't know until reading this website. Changing contexts of discussions...I'll have to remember that.

I give him plenty of credit. Just not for everything listed.

Hey, I ain't complaining. I just don't think Pruitt has as much power as some give him credit for. Jere Morehead has apparently had a good bit of influence on Mcgarity.

Now that he has his players we should be much improved. You guys had the same problems on D with Pruitt that you had with Grantham.

How do you figure that? UGA improved in a single season from Grantham to Pruitt by 9 PPG.

Hell, our secondary couldn't even line up correctly under Grantham.

Pruitt would still be at FSU or a year & out at UGA if Adams was still here...

I think it is two fold. Pruitt comes in and we instantly start hiring quality control staff, get an IPF, restructure practice, and hell... for the first time ever we aren't even getting stats out of scrimmages.

I think all of these are Pruitt influenced, but you are right in the sense that Adams likely wouldn't have rubber stamped the things Morehead has. Too much Pepperdine in him to do so.

Just would like to know what Mcgarity's role was in the transition. I mean the guy towed the company line when Adam's was there and was ALWAYS bitching about finances almost every time he was on TV/Radio and all of a sudden he has this huge epiphany about opening up the purse strings?Did Pruitt put the squeeze on em? (doubtful)

Morehead step up?Or did the big money guys just get fed up?

Love Pruitt but there HAS to be more to this story.

No, but I do think that he planted the seed that UGA can plan on more trips to the Belk bowl of we don't start looking around at the teams that are winning at a higher level and take note.

Most championships take luck. LSU wouldn't have had its 2 championships without luck (2003 hopping USC based on BCS SOS formula and 2007's obvious luck). Richt is a great coach who runs a great program.

Maybe, but a big difference between that and an almost overnight transformation by McGarity...I honestly never liked em and don't trust em if he can make an about face on the issue so quick.

The sooner he leaves the AD the better.

UGA had their best chance to win anything the last two years. Their two best divisional rivals were down at the same time. This year one of those teams is suppose to make a resurgence (TN) and the other is something the can not figure out. Throw in trading Ark for Alabama and you will have a continuation of underachieving. Timing is everything in College Football, and UGA doesn't own a watch.
