I don't doubt that some at OU want to be in the SEC, but Boren has made it known he prefers membership in the Big 10 if he can help it. Paul just stirring the pot

Embarrassing to think the SEC would bend to OU and allow little bro to tag along.

We don't need them. We already have divisional travel issues that teams won't budge on. Damn if I want to travel to another time zone for 1500 miles for a yearly game. No thanks. Virginia or UNC yes but no southwest teams

At what point will you realize that SC & 2/3 of the SEC is an afterthought to your brethren & any one else in the P5? Just sayin

OP, you do know that Finebaum is a Jerry Springer clone, right? All he does is stir up shite. Admittedly he does have sources but he's so full of shite that anyone who takes what he says as factual is just as dumb as all his bama callers.

I'll take Oklahoma, Texas from the west, UNC and Duke from the East.

Staying in the Big 12 is like being stuck with Roseanne. The SEC is Hope Beel, where Oklahoma wants to be all up in!

Sadly, I agree. I grew up loving the big 8 and then the big 12. All of our rivalries. After Nebraska left it hasn't felt the same to me. But, it's not what it use to be even though it's still a tough conference, I would prefer a move to the SEC. I have traveled all around the country with my job and spent a lot of time in the south, and we are most like the south. Culture and athletically it's a great fit. To the South Carolina fan, I promise you wouldn't feel that way after a visit to an actual game here in Norman. I pray that it happens. It will not be easy but I am one sooner fan that would welcome the challenge and think we would do just fine in all sports.

That guy is an idiot. West Virginia or East Carolina over Oklahoma? I don't think so. Would take OU all day long.

I'd wager a guess that the viewer base is about 3 times Oklahoma's in NC. Probably the same in Virginia.

Well Oklahoma is the leading brand in Oklahoma, and the NC fanbase is fractured, but potential viewers and eventual SEC network subscribers stands.

You might quibble about West Virginia being able to deliver fans in Virginia itself. Eh, it's not like there isn't a West Virginia diaspora all over America at this point, particularly in the Virginia metros.

In North Carolina? I would imagine so,.....OU further locks down the Texas market as well. DFW is equidistant from Norman as it is from Austin or College Station.

I would prefer to have some mid-Atlantic schools but East Carolina or NC State? C'mon, I don't see the value there and the SEC will never pull a blue blood out of the ACC. It's not dysfunctional like the Big 12

TV contracts are shrinking.

The Baby Boomers (who loooooove college football more than anybody because they can remember a time when it was "pure") are dying out.

GenX is small, and not nearly as engaged as the Boomers.

Millennials care a lot less than GenX.

Stadiums will shrink in the future. TV revenue will shrink. I predict conferences will also shrink, as some schools will de-prioritize athletics because for most, they are a money-pit.

I agree. Especially at the mid-major programs. Here in Texas we have too many schools playing FBS football: UTSA, UNT, and Texas State. Even SMU and Rice shouldn't be playing FBS ball anymore.

It is boring when we schedule these folks for cupcake games, and they rarely have ever sell out one of their home games.

FBS should cap at 70 or 75 schools and call it a day. The mid-majors need their own division. And a lot of schools just don't need to be playing football at any level.
