Finebaum just stated flat out that Oklahoma wants to move to SEC, but

they are trapped in the Big 12 for next 5 or 6 years.

Why are they stuck? Just curious.

They are locked in the Big 12, are not allowed to leave per prior agreements with the conference, in a nutshell.

Idiot will say anything to generate fake news. OU isn't going anywhere.

Finebaum then went on to say that water is wet and politicians tend to lie.
Even before Big Game Bob retired we've known that Oklahoma wants out of the B12. Their problem is will the SEC take them?

Can Missouri be traded?
Posted on 6/14/17 at 4:27 pm to Tidemeister
Do we want Oklahoma?
Or is this the team we are trading Ole Miss for after they get the Death Penalty?***

here's a good article that explains the difficulty Oklahoma would face by trying to leave the Big 12.

I'd take OK and OK state and move Alabama and Auburn to the east. 10 game sec schedule with rotating cross conf schedule. All rivalries stay intact and you would get to see most of the sec east schools in a four yr period

NO.
A Virginia and North Carolina school make the most sense.
West Virginia is perfect (as long as we are talking about Oklahoma). Then heck add East Carolina if NC State won't jump (or can't).
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Gump's gonna gump. But East Carolina probably has the most loyal fanbase in NC for football. Add money, they expand that stadium, and they can fill it.
I won't say they are a sleeping giant, but NC puts out excellent talent and is populous. Add to that the Norfolk, VA area (which East Carolina recruits well), and they aren't any worse than Vandy, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina from an available talent standpoint.
NC State is a better fit namewise. But they may not be able to come.
But no to Oklahoma. I can get excited to go to Morgantown (maybe they will let me help burn a couch).
But no to Norman.

Finebum in a nutshell.
I never have understood the fascination people have with him. You can gain more sports knowledge listening to some drunk at a sports bar.

You've never been to West Virginia have you?
They would be the worst SEC School if they joined. Their academics make the Mississippi schools look like the Ivy League.

Dude WV is bad. Makes meth heads from Missouri & Rednecks from Kentucky look normal.
