Only because the media decided to focus on creating an outrage about the flag because they couldn't get the reaction they wanted with the shooting (riots/protests).

Honey I didn't insult anybody and I sure as hell didn't cave to anybody's demands. I have family that fought for the Confederacy, died for the Confederacy and I will always proudly fly my own Confederate flag, as do most of the ppl around here. Did I agree with removing the flag? No. I was very vocal about that. To me, it is not a symbol of hate, it is a symbol of my heritage and one that I am proud of. If others choose to view it as a symbol of hatred, that's on them.
The main problem we had here with the state "caving" to SJWs is our bitch arse Governor, who is stuck so far up Obama's arse that it is beyond ridiculous. She let her political aspirations supersede what her constituents wanted and she'll pay for that in the political arena eventually.
Do I want a medal for not rioting here? You're an absolute idiot for even asking such an ignorant question. Forgive me for being proud of my state for upholding some modicum of dignity through a very, very rough and tumultuous series of events...and for loving and having pride in the state in which I was born, raised and will die. Sorry you don't understand that concept.
