i think the south has a tougher brand of black people. if some college kid in gainesville called someone a N, he would get punched. it's happened before, it's happened many times and it'll happen again.

what black kids at mizzou need to understand is that retaliating with only a few punches will make people watch their mouths and the black person won't get in any real trouble because "omg he called me a name". it's a get outta jail free card. use it. quit acting like soft arse bitches and stop being a bunch of fricking drama queens. these are the facts, act accordingly. everyone WILL come down on the person calling someone a name like that.

THIS!!!!!

People outside of the South DO NOT understand that we have let bygones be bygones and we don't pull Ferguson and Baltimore type bullshite stunts down here.

It's like it gives the country outside of the South some kind of inner happiness to perpetuate a stereotype of the South that just is not even close to reality.

I'm not reading all that.

But I do have a question: do they know who did the poopstika?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was a black student just to create this kind of controversy, would also not be surprised if he did it in conjunction with the guy who's on hunger strike.

This is happening more and more. People use social media to create bandwagons, only to be outed as the offending party and the offended.

I don't disagree with your post because that is how it is, but it's a shame that the media and people in positions of power are scared to call this out. This is a terrifying situation that sets an awful precedent. Racism is awful, almost everyone agrees with that. But this is downright despicable.

You can believe that but it's not likely true, there has to be some coach that is smart enough to see the difference between a real valid grievance and a campus radical muck raker and understand why you don't let your football team support and quit over the later.

There is nothing wrong at the MU campus any more so than any campus, there are all kinds of black student associations (dozens of them) and outreach programs just like on other campuses. It's not the 50's, they aren't Rosa Parks, and there is no reason for the football players to get sucked into a radicals schemes like that.

A good coach would explain that to his team, and tell them, you always have a choice here, and there's the door.

if anything, working class and professional blacks are harder on ghetto motherfrickers than white people are.

there are a LOT of black people in the south and they are just like anyone else. you have varying classes across race down here. it's not really black/white, but we do have our own class type warfare it just isn't really over skin color. i'm white and i can't stand being around trash of any color and there's no real difference between me and the black guy i work beside.

I agree. Can you imagine 30 Bama players coming to Saban saying they are going to strike or not play against State, I think the man might stroke out. When he finally came down off the roof, those players would be gone so fast and good luck having another GOOD team take them. I thought Gary Pinkel had more balls than for let 30 Kids blackmail his arse.

No.

A good coach would sit his players down behind closed doors, and remind them that while you can support the students, you must remember that you are here for one reason-to play football.

South Carolina would probably not have let it get as bad as Wolfe and Missouri allowed it to get.

Disagree, it wouldn't happen at Bama- as soon as anything got near that contentious Saban would fire the President (he'd resign for "Family reasons")

No other current regime in any other SEC school would allow it to get this bad.

how "bad" did it get? how "bad" do you think it is for black students at Mizzou?

I'll give you a hint it's not bad and it's not different than most liberal college campuses, which is almost all of them.

Of course maybe you're less tolerant than Mizzou and would just throw the radical ahole off campus, I could get behind that.

And if he did that with the Black players striking over what they perceive as racial injustice he would immediately be labeled a racist and have a VERY difficult time recruiting black players from that point.

In other words, no...no he wouldn't.

He, along with every other coach in the SEC would have done the same thing because they would have been left with no choice. Pinkel wasn't happy about it, but he was painted into the corner and he did the only thing he could have done.
