It's one thing to unnecessarily lose your shite when a guy makes a mistake within the play of the game (Muschamp was notorious for that). It's another to do it when a player makes a completely stupid and selfish act after a touchdown that hurts his entire team.

THIS. It was a discipline issue which, based on recent results, is pervasive and entrenched in the culture of Gator football.

I disagree with the article. This tone needed to be set early in Mac's tenure.

Mac realizes he messed up and went too far that's why he apologized to Kelvin and came saying he regretted it.

Well, that's not a good sign then. Have a backbone please... Stick to your guns... He was right in what he did...

He didn't apologize for reprimanding Kelvin, he said he may have gone a little too far. It was a non-apology apology.

Better to ask for forgiveness than permission. The message was sent--that can't be taken back.

Based on the current climate it was probably needed, but the message was sent nonetheless.

i dunno what the big issue is - so the coach used foul language - big whoop. its no different than what they have been subjected too for a long time - hell they probly used and heard that language on the school bus in middle/high school.

ESPN making something out of nothing as per the usual.

Unfrickingbelievable.

I agree. If McElwain is the real deal Bama may check him out when Saban gets 1/4 of all the oil in Texas.

He did. He looked like an idiot. Kudos to the kid for even keeping a straight face out of respect for the dumbass display.

He's in the middle of a game that needs his coaching and he calls a team meeting on the sideline to freak out on this kid.

I'm not against a coach chewing out a kid but a better option at that moment would have been to tell the position coach to sit the kid at the end of the bench. Taking away playing time is the best motivator - if that doesn't work, nothing will.

ESPN likes to create a story when there is no story. Congrats to Florida.

It's gotten to a point when ESPN comes out on one side of a position the other is automatically correct.

I think he went to far. He look like Muschamp out there. Now he moves Taylor to 3rd on the depth chart. I think this could be bad for recruiting. He moved Robinson to 3rd on the depth chart for the last game and he seem to get the most balls thrown his way. It seems like this is a way to look to look strict but still get to use the player as much as wants .

Kelvin went to my high school and his coaches are friends of mine. He will be fine. I am sure he is frustrated after playing a part time role he was hoping to get the lion's share of the carries this year which is what he was used to in high school.

I have no idea as to what you are trying to say... It's called setting a precedent for the team. No one is in serious trouble. In terms of recruiting, soft coaches will get soft recruits...

Maybe you're too young to remember but Saban used to coach LSU

With the whole team gathered as an audience like he's putting on a show? In his second game at the helm of the program?

It was dumb.

And what if it ends up working? Who knows how Kelvin or the team will respond, but if it reduces the amount of stupid penalties that we are accustomed to seeing at UF no one is going to be upset.

Mac is not going to put up with
1 stupid penalties
2 players who think more of themselves than the team.
Boom had let this slip. Mac is going to get it under control.
Life is tough. Sux it up.

Ps Andrea needs to eat a bowl of dicks the next time she wants to tell a grown man how to run His program...
