Let's all just keep babying these young men and let things like that from a junior leader on the team do that to set a dumb example for the freshman.

Yeah because that's what the last guy did, baby them. Boom never lost his temper like a jackass; surely this shocking departure from the exact thing they had to put up with for 4 season will be what breaks through.

We're always a highly penalized team we've been that way since Spurrier the refs call things really tight against us just like how whatever coach takes over Alabama instantly gets less penalties called on them than they did at their previous job.

Maybe you're too young to remember but Saban used to coach LSU

KT wasn't looking Coach Mac in eyes. When times are tough you still have to be a man and take your medicine with your head high. I'm not sure what's wrong with that lesson.

After getting yelled at for four seasons by Boom our guys probably tune out angry shouting at this point, Mac should try a different approach.

. in the end UF will be better for it if he can survive the transition.

What transition? It's not like this is a new thing these players have never seen before.

no, youre being short sighted. he wasnt just addressing the one player. he is addressing the larger problem of the culture on that entire team. notice when its happening it isnt just the one guy but the whole damn team paying attention. that show was just as much for effect for all the younger guys to see that even the older more established players arent gonna be cut any slack. its no surprise schools are a fricking wreck these days if half of you morons have kids and are scared to be tough on them.

Dang, maybe you guys shouldn't have brought in a coach who cuddles players and doesn't believe in holding people accountable to be your defensive coordinator.

The poor D1 college football player got yelled at..

If you've ever been in the military, you now the treatment he received was soft, at best.

This used to be the norm in sports...the norm with most dads and fvck even the norm with certain bosses I worked with.

If this kind of thing bothers you then you need to question why your single mother raised such a pvssy. Then again you are probably that segment of the population that gets offended by everything on the planet.

Try to show some self control, grown man.
Saban is notorious for it. I think you'd sacrifice Les to get him back.

It didn't bother me except for the fact that I don't think it will work all that well. It's not like McElwain is replacing Meyer he's immediately following another guy who yelled and lost control all of the time-- how is this different from what Boom did and why do think it will work better?

All the people applauding and say this is what we need to change Florida's culture I guess I have to ask do you guys think of Muschamp as a low intensity guy who coddles players and doesn't hold anyone accountable?

If that's the case what gave him this false image as a hard nosed guy who yells at players?

I've never really pulled for UF in anything but when I saw the video I became a McElwain fan. That's what a coach is supposed to do. ESPN is full of pussies & bitches.

Look I'm only going to say it this last time and then I'm done with this thread. I have no problem with what Mac did. I have a problem (if you can call it that) with how he did it.

In a previous post someone used the spanking a kid metaphor. I have no problem with spanking your kid. I do have a problem with spanking your kid in the moment, out of anger.

In that moment Mac appeared to be the kind of parent that would Adrian Peterson his kid because he forgot to wash the dishes again.

Are you shitting me? This isn't a situation where a grown man was spanking a child too hard. Both people in the UF situation were adults (although college football players only want to be called adults when it benefits them). That blowup was a much a message to his entire team as it was to one player. It's one thing to unnecessarily lose your shite when a guy makes a mistake within the play of the game (Muschamp was notorious for that). It's another to do it when a player makes a completely stupid and selfish act after a touchdown that hurts his entire team. As the HC, you jump that player's arse immediately to let he and his entire team know that kind of stuff won't be tolerated, PERIOD. You don't tolerate silly shite like that during the game then discipline the next day.

This thread speaks volumes as who played sports at a competitive level. I bet McElwain has done this a time or two in practice when cameras weren't rolling

That's the truth, brotha

It also shows the people that will bitch about the coach not playing their children equally... You know, because everyone deserves equal playing time...
