There is no "cycle" of the schedule for 2012-2013. These two schedules were made with no consideration for prior or future rotations. Georgia received a gift schedule in 2012 while the team that routinely beats them was forced to travel to another top 10 team from the other division. Another team that can compete with UGA was forced to play two top 10 teams from the other division. UGA went 1-1 vs their main competition, and sat back and laughed while the competition had to play a combined 3 top 10 foes.

Alabama
2012 Tennessee, Mizzou
2013 Tennessee, Kentucky

LSU
2012 Florida, South Carolina
2013 Florida, Georgia

As long as we play UT every year, I don't care who we play.

Because all conference games count towards your chances at winning your division. A loss to UF effects your standing in the west just like a loss to aTm.

They are equally important.

Tired of hearing you ppl whine about "it's so unfair that we have to play tough SEC teams every year".

You played 2 tough teams. 1-1 record

LSU played 4 tough teams. 2-2 record

That one extra loss may have cost us the rematch you got last year. Sure, you beat us head to head at our place. That sounds fricking familiar.

We had to go to Florida. You got to vacation in Tennessee.

Tennessee requires exceptional out of state recruiting to compete. Florida does not. Even in our championship '03 season with the almighty at the helm, we lost to fricking Zook at home.

Outside of commom opponent arguments, the cycling of the schedule left very few points of contention. But, please explain the inequities of this and next year's schedule during the transition to a different cycle.

Believe me, I'd rather sit back and watch the meltdown if things were reversed. But, I'm the guy who always gave the benefit of the doubt when a foul was called, in the name of fairness.

When a great coach like Mike Shula has your team disciplined enough to lead the SEC in fewest penalties, while your fledgling SEC coach has you in the middle of the conference, yet when he takes the reins of Shula's team, they also are the conference's least penalized team, it put's a bad taste in your mouth.

When your common opponent draw is decidedly tougher, it doesn't help. Then, you see the obvious discreprancies of this and next year in cross divisional foes, and it makes me feel much like the loyal taxpayer in this dying country.

In the past, I've never flinched in my support of this conference, but I'm really not sure how I feel at this point.

you're right it wasn't a quirk, the SEC addded 2 new teams and they had to play someone. I wish Bama would've been able to play UGA instead of JFF this year, Bama would still be undefeated.

Don't forget to add that Saban is in favor of a 9 game conference schedule to ensure that you play every team at least once every four years.

I can't even imagine the offseason this year. There's gonna be a lot of teams in the SEC expected to do well next year.

This board is gonna be full retard for months.

We almost made it through the entire thread without an LSU fan pulling the "ref conspiracy" shite.

Not a conspiracy.

Human nature. People are subjective. Period.

When two thirds of your officials reside in a certain area, and are hired as consultants in the off season, there will be subconcious effects.

It's not Alabama or its fans fault that this is the case, but it does exist. Hopefully, it's a natural progression that my lifetime will eventually eliminate.

We didn't have replay, then we got replay, now we have it with high definition. We used to have frequent split championships, then we got the BCS, and soon we will have the precursor to a true playoff.

There are a few educated people, even some Alabama fans, that can understand these points mentioned above and within this post.

Unfortunately, they don't frequent these discussions.

I'm late back to the party, but has anyone successful explained how SC was supposed to get their return trip from MSU this year and UGA was due to rotate back on with Bama?

Obviously, we didn't take care of business and had our chances, so that's that. But has the SEC said how they came up with the schedule this year?

Petrino's first year at Arkansas (they sucked). Auburn was 5-7. South Carolina was not nearly as good as they have become. LSU fans seem to forget that the teams go up and down. Some years what wasn't a tough schedule three years earlier is very difficult. They just seem to be fixated that they have to play Florida every year. We're sorry that UT, Bama, UGA and AU had football traditions and rivalries almost a century before LSU became relevant in football, but the constant bitching about having to play that one game every year is one of the most annoying topics on this board.

Arkansas, you pointed them out in Bama's 08 schedule. LSU played them on the road also. At 7-6, Clemson was hardly a powerhouse, and Bama played them on the road, but at a neutral site. Bama's schedule in 08 is nothing to get excited about.
