You do know what the term "common opponents" means. Right? Also said with EdO as HC. So those two statements eliminates bama and auburn.
LSU VS ole miss 515 yards
bama vs ole miss 492 yards
LSU vs ark 547 yards
bama vs ark 517 yards
LSU vs A&M 622 yards
bama vs A&M 451 yards
LSU vs UF 423 yards
bama vs UF 372 yards
So yes LSU's "O" performed damn well against those same crappy defenses bama faced as well.
Also LSU's "D" held two of them to fewer yards and points than bama's "D".
Do these stats take turnovers into account? Do they take defensive TDs into account? Both of those could affect total yardage.

IF it were just one game we were comparing maybe, but that list is called a "trend" brother.
LSU's O isn't a world beater, but we sure as frick don't suck.

I'm kind of tired of the "look our qb doesn't suck" threads. Give Danny time to build his stats first. Its week 3.

Is this where we pretend that Hurts has been something other than a liability throwing the football against good defenses?
Good thing he can run like a deer

It didn't suck at all last year. But it was very much dependent on the run game, which is why there were such wild swings between games against Missouri, Ole Miss and Texas A&M and games against Alabama, Auburn and Florida.

Anybody pretending otherwise?

Yes it is.

Well if you watch our play calling vs pasties last year vs this year you would notice the difference. If you say there is none, then you don't know what you are looking at.
None of us expect to go and drop 600 yards on a Bama D, but we have the talent and play calling these last few years for us has been terrible.
I wouldn't even be mad if we lost games and we made half decent play calls, but Miles was hell FKING bent on running the ball right up the middle when everyone on the planet knew it.

Exactly...
So the narrative that Etling couldn't throw for shite fits Hurts as well.

I can guarantee you I never said that. I don't think I ever brought up coaching. I think Canada is very solid and LSU's offense will be more consistent and as good as their personnel allows against good defenses this year.
I'm not sure their QB/OL combination will allow a TON more, but Canada will scheme together the best combination possible (unlike past years).

If Hurts couldn't run he certainly would not be our QB. And definitely wouldn't have been last season.

Thats true and all I hope for. In the end, Etling is nothing more than a game manager, which is fine, for now. The real test is Myles, an elite recruit, and how our staff develops these recruits. Something we have not done in a very long time.

That's because the entire world outside of inbredland knows Jalen Hurts throws the ball about as accurately as Tim Tebow right handed.

So, roughly as well as Danny Etling? Plus he runs like a gazelle?
Got it.

There seems to be this strange narrative that Bama fans think Hurts is a good passer. Where is that coming from, we saw numerous threads this off season with Bama fans hoping he doesn't start. Saying the incoming true freshman will take the job by the end of the year. Even the "pro-hurts" crowd will admit he isn't a great passer.

Nah, ignore the 50 page threads on the Bama board fighting about whether Hurts was (a) never going to be a good passer or (b) he MIGHT could be a competent passer if he develops. There wasn't even a (c) he's already a good passer option there.

The difference is Auburn still has Sean White in reserve. He was suspended for the first two games, but he is coming back this week.
Sean White had a far better game against LSU's defense than Eitling had against Auburn last year. He literally doubled Eitling in yardage 234 to 118.

shite, I actually thought overall Bama fans were underrating him this off season but I understand most of that is how the season ended.

I was firmly in the "freshman make their biggest jump after year 1 let's wait and see" camp, and I'm still in that camp. I was literally probably the most positive person on our board re: him too. Well, besides Pow Hound.
But hey, narratives are fun.

Not saying you do. What I am saying is that in some of the games listed Alabama had defensive TDs and blocked punts/special teams scores. Those directly affect offensive yardage output.

Sorry for what exactly? Sorry that you apparently think that your worthless opinion changes reality
