They have been on the decline win total wise since their NC.
They won 10 games, the Orange Bowl and finished in the Top 10 last year.

They may nosedive and lose 5 games.
Sure, why not

Only time will tell. I really think this week against state will show if he has actually made strides from last year. I am cautiously optimistic, but for me its 100% a wait and see.
Which is a totally reasonable way to look at it. And to be encouraged and optimistic even!
I'm in the same boat with Jalen. I hope he's made a year 2 jump, some signs are encouraging, but I'm far from sold on it.

Attention All Teams
You aren't allowed to be excited about your team until they beat someone deamed worthy by us.

You people are fricking insane

You can be excited all you want. I just don't understand tricking yourself year after year by irrationally getting excited based on empty performances.
But again, you are welcome to do what you want.

They got that bid to the otange bowl out of pure name sake. Remember they finished third in the atlantic division.

LSU fans are going to piss in their pants
when he plays a real Defense.

Yea agreed. People were pumped about Etling chunking the ball long, but even sitting in the stadium I could see the passes were under-thrown and an SEC defense could have (and should have) made a play on those balls.

And then beat Michigan.
But ok, FSU stinks. Not sure how that changes things re: withholding judgement based on BYU and Chattanooga.

The good news is Canada will put it in positions where he can succeed because he's a good offensive coach. That will work most games, and then you are down to 1 or 2 where Etling will have to make plays himself. That formula ain't bad.

Literally every single fan base gets excited at results from week 1 and 2 especially if you start 2-0. No matter the opponent.
EVERY SINGLE FANBASE
EVERY SINGLE FANBASE

Didnt say they stink. But they did allow 63 points to louisville last year.
Just saying they may not be who you think they are. Just because espn ranks them 3rd doesnt mean they are that good.

Is it really a bad throw if his WR is 6'6 and the corners covering him are 5'11

Excited and rational optimism are not the same thing.
And no they don't. But again, you are more than welcome to hit the hole full out and be blown away by those 2 games. It's your call.

Without Francois they probably aren't #3 (may not have been with him). With Francois they were certainly a 9/10 win , Top 15 team. Without him who knows.

Mississippi St has played Louisiana Tech and Charleston Southern
Are they not doing the exact same thing?

When the receiver has to stop running to catch the ball on in a jump ball situation on a post or go route, yes, thats a bad throw. Not saying by any means that his long balls were "bad", im just saying that Bama, UF, AU and even States DBs would have been able to make plays on those balls in an SEC matchup where every potential turnover matters x10.

Is State convinced they are now a 9 win team and some mediocre player is now awesome because of those games?
Outside of the goofy grind most of their serious posts have said they feel better but they won't know for sure until they see it against real competition.
