Even when Boise didn't stack the box, yall had a hard time running.
I am not sure how Ole Miss can fix the Oline. Better coaching? But getting dominated on the line of scrimmage for most of the game against a MWC team is not a good sign of things to come.

This is coming from a Falcons fan having to put up with having all the talent in the world on offense, but the team couldn't do shite because of the Oline.

Ole Miss looked like trash, first of all.

LOL

Second of all.

I feel bad for Ole Miss fans. Boise State is not a good football team(possibly worse than Southern Miss). Ole Miss's defensive line only looked good because Boise's offensive line was much smaller and they were all newborn children. With that said, Ole Miss's defensive line didn't even look good.

Ole Miss's secondary looked very bad. Busted coverage on every other play. You could see that losing 4 starters in their secondary had taken its toll on the Rebels' coverage. If Ole Miss's offensive line and running game has trouble with Boise State than they will get destroyed when they meet a real defense like Alabama, LSU, or us.

Bo Wallace looked pretty good though.

We keep recruiting better players. OL is where Nutt left us the most bare.

We knew going in the OL would need to improve based on the how thin our OL is coming in this year. Good thing, as an Ole Miss fan, we are used to OL that suck. We should be able to make the necessary adjustments. I predict by the time we play Bama, our OL will resemble an SEC OL.

Sloppy play by Ole Miss. Gave coaches plenty of stuff to yell at them about in the film room.

Boise St. is obviously not what they were under the Petersen era. As ugly as that game was, it's a good thing for OM to know they can play poorly on offense through 3 quarters and still come out on top by close to 3 TDs. Plus the defense looked great.

People make WAY too much of first games. I'm not saying OM is going to set the world on fire, and anybody with half a brain knows that we have absolutely no idea what any team is capable of after 1 performance. Same thing with ATM and USCe. These games are played with no chance to see how their guys are in a game situation minus a spring scrimmage against their own team. So to answer the original post, maybe. But maybe not.

I only remember one high hit. We did a great job of aiming for the stomach and hips. that one high hit was obviously from bryant

The hard hit by Pruitt was dangerously close. Not saying it was targeting, just that you can't let them drift that high without worry.

I'm more than satisfied with our defense. Bo's first half performance speaks for itself. I don't know if Boise's affected our Oline as much as the coaches said it did, but overall I left satisfied. After watching Vandy last night it looks as if we'll have 3 weeks to get it straight before college game day comes to the grove against Bama

Wasn't OB telling us a month ago how the gap was going to become enormous between the State and OM olines? If true I can't imagine how bad our oline would have to be.

Ole Miss running backs are too small. They look like they are trying to have the Rainey/Demps thing. Those guys weren't that great against good defenses.

Bo has good arm strength but seems to sometimes possess the intellect of a squirrel.

Our running backs aren't the problem. Nobody is an effective run team when your interior line is letting guys hit our backs in the backfield.

If their QB didn't suck you're probably losing going into the 4th as well. It goes both ways, like you

First of all on all the Southern Miss talk.. Just makes me feel bad. I live in Hattiesburg. Always hope they do well. 0-12 in 2012. 1-11 in 2013.

Ole Miss looked sloppy. Nothing that hasn't been said before, Bro looked bad, blah blah. But the one thing I thought was interesting that was said before was how the team looked like a bunch of individuals. Especially on defense. "I just want to get the QB every time" mentality. OM is extremely lucky that they have a month to get this under control. If they do, they'll be good. If not? Eh could get bad. But they'll turn it around and be a mid tier SEC team.

Inb4 USM upsets MSU.
