Did you notice we held them to under 100 total yards till right at the end of the 3rd quarter?

Too bad no one plays 3 quarter games. Ole Miss couldn't play 60 minutes against the weakest team on the schedule.

That's great if you are only playing 3 quarters.

So you honestly think that we'll fall flat in the 4th quarter in every game from here on out? How much football have you actually watched? This kind of crap happens all the time(not playing 4 qtrs, that is).

It's extremely sad if you've mailed in the season based on one game. I hope like hell you're just messing around because if not, I lost a ton of respect for you.

We'll see what happens but I just don't see the quality players that I've seen the past few years. I think it's going to be a very long year.

How much have you actually watched this fall? Are you basing judgment only off of that game? Are you aware that we were without our starting SS and DE in Fon Ingram and Lockett? Did you notice that we never blitzed and typically only rushed 3 to 4 and played a weak zone the entire game?

us losing that game had absolutely nothing to do with lacking quality players. I just don't see how anyone who actually watched the game closely can come to your conclusion.

What I saw watching Ole Miss on defense:

Powe played well and beat his man regularly

Laurent needs to be on the field at the same time as Powe more.

Lockett was sorely missed as Ole Miss got zero pressure from the ends.

The little QB from JSU was a player and turned chicken shite into chicken salad over and over again.

Pretty much sums it up there.

Wayne Dorsey sucks balls.

Pank I can't look at your Avatar without laughing my arse off.

Ok yes you win some.

Here's what I want to know. Tim Brando likes HDN and before it was all done (with Masoli) he was saying that he talked to HDN and told him to take Masoli the logic being he'd be in peril if OM shits the bed this year.

Would HDN have been in trouble if no Masoli and they stunk or is he now in more peril with Masoli and the Jax St loss?

Sorry, I just don't see it. Lose respect for me if you must. I hope I'm proven wrong.

He'll be a damned good one and better than Hardy if he can stay healthy. I just think he's a bit overwhelmed at the moment. Give him a few games to adjust and he'll be good.

On a positive note, the running game looked 100% better than I thought it would sans Dexter.

Are you saying he's having a hard time adjusting to the speed of 1-AA?

Bad question. Us having Masoli doesn't definitely cause us to lose that game. You can argue distractions, etc. but it was more of us just backing off because we thought we had the game in hand too early.

But to answer your question. We gained a ton of momentum over the past two years and it would be terribly easy to lose all that momentum with a losing season this year. We didn't have a choice but to take a chance on Masoli this Summer. If we would have turned down a former pre-season Heisman candidate(was considered one this past Spring before being kicked off of Oregon) and turned a 5-7 or worse season, it would have destroyed everything Nutt has built here so far.

From the showing this past Spring, Stanley was NO WHERE near ready to take the helms here. He has surprisingly(to me) really taken huge strides the past month or two. My theory on that is Masoli brought really good competition to the QB depth and was able to share his experience with Stanley. Our hopes were when we brought in Masoli that we would have a very talented and experienced QB, a talented QB in Stanley that is unproven, and a young talented QB in Mackey. Thankfully, Stanley is looking very good right now and is allowing us to RS Mackey.

Ole Miss wins at least 2 games in conference this year... and probably upsets someone between arky, lsu, auburn, and bama

Yeah, I'm not arguing what you're saying there but that's not exactly what I meant.

I certainly didn't mean Masoli caused the loss.

This was months ago when Brando was saying he and Nutt talked. What Brando was saying, far before Masoli was a done deal, was that he and Nutter are buddies and Nutt asked his advice. The logic of both was that if no Masoli then HDN was very likely going to be in hot water as your coach. I guess I'm asking if that were true then if OM stinks it up the rest of the way did getting Masoli make life even tougher for Nutt.
