Yes.

Take it however you want to take it. But suggesting that a top 15 team (who dominated their cupcake) will finish the year roughly equivalent to a preseason joke (who lost to a cupcake)...is delusional.

I don't see it... Maybe Vandy?
You act like you have not seen this show before. HDN's M.O. is playing out to perfection right before your eyes. Lose inexplicably to a lesser opponent. Get fanbase in an uproar. Pull off an incredibly unforeseen upset to get the fanbase back on his side. Win just enough games to make firing him seem irrational, while leaving the fan base with a weird WTF feeling about the season they just witnessed.
So, yes...OM will win a few SEC games this year. One probably will be against someone they have "no chance" at beating. Do not be surprised if they reel off 4 or 5 wins in a row after that embarrassing loss. Everyone will be back on the bandwagon. The JSU game will be but a mere inexplicable aberration. And just when you're feeling good about the guy again, you'll slip up and lose one (or several) that you have no business losing.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

One game does not a season make.
Ole Miss showed in the first half that they are capable of being dominant. In the second half they showed they are capable of losing their focus and not being able to put the pedal back down. We will find out a lot about Ole Miss this weekend in the Superdome.

Whatever the line is, take OM to cover it. You will see "First Half" Old Miss for the entire game this Saturday. Remember, I have seen this show before. They are not as good as they looked at times in the first half, and they are not as awful as they played in the second half. Their problem is - and will continue to be - that they have to be on an emotional razor's edge to be effective because fundamentals and sound schemes are not their foundation. Once they went up 31-10, they relaxed. And when the game got tight and they needed to re-assert themselves, they were emotionally spent. Couldn't flip that switch. In NOLA on Saturday, they will play fast and furious for the whole game, and everyone will wonder where that team was against JSU. OM fans will puff up a little bit and think the JSU game was a fluke. And a few weeks later, with the JSU game a distant memory, the rebs will do something equally as inexplicable and have everyone scratching their heads again.

They will win more than one. Big questions on defense so far though.

I would say that based on past experience from HDN coached teams, that loss was not completely unpredictable, nor was it unprecedented. While he never lost to a 1-AA team at Arkansas, we surely lost to quite a few inferior opponents. UNLV in a bowl...Minnesota in another bowl...Vandy at home after building a 10 pt lead in the 4th...

Doesnt every coach lose to inferior opponents from time to time? I understand where youre coming from with your experience with Nutt, but losing to teams we shouldnt didnt just start when Nutt got here. I agree that its Nutt's fault we lost and not so much the players, but the fact that Ole Miss lost to an inferior opponent is more predictable then Nutt losing to an inferior opponent.
Like I said, every coach loses to teams they shouldnt, almost every year in fact. Maybe not as big a game as the JSU game, but in each coaches career they almost always have a loss like this one.

Good thing SEC games are only three quarters.

You're absolutely correct. Going back to the OP, I think my initial point is that the predictions that OM doesn't win again this year because they lost to a 1-AA school are just ridiculous. I took off on my own when answering that, and basically was just observing that it seems the roller coaster ride that is following HDN teams seems to now be in full effect with OM. You will inexplicably win games you don't expect, and you will lose others the same way. And while all coaches have those WTF? games, it seems HDN's teams do it with more regularity - positive and negative - than most other coaches.

I agree with BenHOGan on Nutt. He has a proven track record of shite like this.

We will face better offenses than JSU every week from here on out. We allowed 49 points. 34 in regulation. I think Ole Miss wins 3 games this years and maybe beats Vandy for a conference win. Maybe.

so you didn't watch the game at all....did you?
Did you notice we held them to under 100 total yards till right at the end of the 3rd quarter?
