You speak truth. If I was young and single, I would move away too because of the opportunities elsewhere.

And there's nothing wrong with that. I'm not saying I'll be slapping a decal of Calvin pissing on an outline of MS or anything. It's just that, I think, there it is in my best interest to move else where.

It would take time but if I could look past all of the douchebag Dallas Cowboys fans, the Dallas-Ft. Worth area really grew on me these past two years. I like the big city feel, but I hate the crowded feeling.

In Dallas, it had that big metro feel but everything was so spread out that it was still convenient.

Sure is a VERY LIBERAL trio of cities there. I can understand how any left wing liberal can want to get out of Mississippi, its a RED state and will Stay that way.

I feel comfortable here in Mississippi, its like someone's home church as compared to visiting a friend's church. Its something about your home State, city, family home, or even Church. Mississippi is a unique state when it comes to all of those things, and I am in the position I could move any time I wanted to. Could I make more money? YES. But I would probably have to pay a shite load more for the cost of living in a big city in another state. That being said Im happy where I live and I guess more power to anybody to people who want to live other places if that makes them happy.

I was just upset when Eli said that he couldn't wait to get the Hell out of Mississippi and away from all of the ignorant people here. I felt that was a direct slap in the face to me and everyone who who lives in Mississippi.

The problem is, I think he's kinda correct on that part. It's like the shite storm in Tupelo right now. They just started allowing alcohol sales on Sunday. I don't drink often and I'm not saying I have to drink on Sundays, but who the hell are you(not you directly) to tell me when I can and cannot drink.

City legislature threw a bitchfit at first saying stupid shite like, "we don't want a drunks all over the road when me and my family are driving home from work."

THAT is pure ignorance. So does that make it ok for me to drive drunk when you get off work?

They don't realize that there are several food joints that want to come here but can't because they can't sell on Sundays. That's jobs and Tax revenue that is being missed out on.

It's stupid shite like that is what we are referring to when we use the term "ingorance".

ETA: and you feeling like this is a "slap in the face" is where you're problem is. Why do you feel like that? If anything, you should just feel "oh well, your loss" and leave it at that.

The Law

If they say no sales on Sunday then you need to buy it on Saturday.

Also if you are under 21 you shouldn't be drinking at all.

The Law

Has changed. But it was a BS law anyways. From a Morals standpoint, why should YOU determine when I buy a product that I am legally able to buy?

Sorry, I may have not been clear though. The law USED to be no Alky sales on Sunday. They started allowing it a few weeks ago.

Edited b/c of your edit:
I am a good bit past the minimum drinking age.

No wonder you have so much Swagga. Speaking of USP, I live in Petal (a suburb or Hattiesburg) and our high school's new football stadium will host USP for the Very first game ever played there this fall.

Here's a link to the stadium

The same reason that the FDA has marijuana banned. If a city, county, state or country finds something to be detrimental to their residents then they have laws created.

But alcohol isn't an illegal drug. Sorry, but that is a complete BS argument. What makes alcohol so "detrimental to their residents" on Sunday instead of the other 6 days in the week?

You gotta remember that we live in the Bible Belt, another reason Im sure you cant wait to get out of Mississippi. There were laws set back when prohibition ended that banned alcohol sales on Sunday, my hometown of Brookhaven has no sales on Sunday. Also NO Liquor stores in the State of Mississippi are open on Sundays. Many Christians feel that Sunday should be a day of worship and not for drinking. And also in many small towns not only in Mississippi, many churches such as a First Baptist Church has a lot of say in local government.

I'm all for going to church, and am a Methodist. I have to say though, those Baptists could stand to chill a little bit every now and then

We played yall in Batesville this past season and yall beat us 38-0, but we return pretty much everybody. Im just looking for a great game. I heard that we scheduled yall so that we would have an overflow sellout crowd for our new stadium (10K seats) b/c everybody in the Hattiesburg area would want to come out to see what South Panola is all about.

I do consider myself somewhat of a christian. I'm not as devoted as some are, but you are essentially punishing those who don't have the same religious beliefs as you do.

So what if I feel like heading to the local sports bar to watch an NFL game. As long as I don't drink past the legal minimum or I have a DD, tell me what the problem is?......without going into religious and moral beliefs.
