If you guys think Barbour is so bad, then why is Mississippi one of the most economically sound of any of the 50 states?

um....link? What exactly makes us so economically sound?

I know it's not based on average household income. We're dead last at just under 29k per household.

If you're satisfied with what Mississippi has to offer, then good for you. But I'm always looking to improve my standing. It's called being a Capitalist.

Balancing our budget, not being in the RED.

You would love Pete Boone.

wow. Good generalization of me being a liberal, pro-Obama Socialist.

Never voted for him. Consider myself an Independent. Never agreed with his stimulus plan either. But if he's offering money to the state, the state(which happens to be the poorest in the Union) should take the money.......no matter what.

Good job generalizing me though. Looks like you're spot on with it. /sarcasm.

Also, good job calling someone who is looking for better opportunities in the job market, better pay, etc. as a Socialist. You might need to consult a dictionary.

ETA: And as far as me moving to a blue state....Considering my likely career, I've looked at Texas as a very likely place to move. Not sure how you'd consider that a Blue state.

I didn't say that I hate Southern culture. I hate the ignorance that runs abound. I just dislike ignorance, and the South is full of it.

You guys have claimed yourselves that over 50% of Ole Miss' student population is from out of state. Im not generalizing, just basing my comments on what you guys have told me on here

33% or so is out of state.

What exactly do you label or define as ignorance here in Mississippi? And if things are so bad why dont you transfer to a school in another State? Not a flame, just asking for an answer.

The whole nation is full of it. Just different ends of the spectrum.

Well, for one thing, we could go into a literal since of ignorance.

In 2007, Mississippi scored the lowest out of 50 states in standardized testing of both Math and Science.

Sorantable, we may disagree on what college we like, but we see eye to eye when it comes to our basic beliefs and how we feel about the state of Mississippi and our leadership here.

Well of course it is.
I'm not saying that the South is the only place where ignorance is.

I just plan on moving to a place with significantly less ignorance.
Those do exist.

Spoken like a true loser.Y'all think that winning in recruiting is more important than winning the game.If you are not in the top 10 in recruiting does it really matter. If you have top 25 recruiting class and we are at 35 do you really think you are that much better than we are.

You went 5-7 last year to cap off a decade of 8 losing seasons. We went to our 3rd NYD bowl game this decade.

How exactly are WE the losers of the two?

Good for you, our state needs fewer people like you living here then.

I just dont see how you can love Ole Miss, and hate Mississippi, the South, and anything that has Southern Traditions.

Generally there's a big difference in the class when it's 25-35.
It would be a lot less significant if we were ranked 20 and ya'll were ranked 30.
Or 15 and 25.

Honest question.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you are pretty anchored in Mississippi both financially and with family. Is that a correct assumption?

Because there is a difference between being southern, and being an ignorant redneck.
Rednecks are everywhere, and wherever I move it will be as far away from them as possible.

Because not every Ole Miss fan equates Ole Miss to old Southern traditions or even the South in general. Believe it or not....it's the OTHER school's fans who do this.

I grew up an Ole Miss fan because cow bells annoyed the shite out of me as a kid. I didn't grow up an Ole Miss fan because they represent the Old South.

Not too mention Ole Miss is trying to distance themselves from many of the Old South references.
