LSU has the #7 most difficult SOS. Washington has the 40th. Nobody has come close to stopping him all year. Even against Bama he had almost 400 yards in total offense in 2 1/2 quarters. He's about to eclipse 1,000 yards on the ground this week too. Lamar Jackson won it with 4 losses, Tebow had 3 as well as RG3. If he lights up the aggies it shouldn't be close.

All great points. I don’t vote obviously, but if I had to vote today it would be for Daniels because of these facts. Still football left to be played though. What’s going to hurt Daniels, is he’ll be at home while other candidates will be playing in front of huge audiences

No, the defense didn't have the best games when it mattered.

Hell, he ran for what... 165yds against bama before the head shot?

Did you even watch the game? Daniels went out with about 12:50 left in the 4th quarter

Thanks for summarizing, this really puts it into perspective. When was the last time someone put up stats like Daniels?? Dude is unreal.

Should be the runaway Heisman favorite right now. I think 2 more weeks of these video game stats would be too much for even Penix to overcome

You think Penix won these game without a helpful defense??

Michael Penix vs unranked Arizona State

27/42
275 yards
0 touchdowns
2 interceptions
2 carries, -1 yards

Michael Penix vs unranked USC

22/30
256 yards
2 touchdowns
1 interception
3 carries, -4 yards

Weird that he had zero carries for zero yards both games

Coaching failure I reckon

Apparently he could have averaged 50yds passing per game and this place would still believe he should win.

It’s a weird award, because it is supposed to be the best player in the country. Problem is, they rarely get that right. It’s mostly the best QB and often on the best team. That’s where he will get hurt. They will look at penix with good stats and all the wins, and look at Daniels and blush over his stats, but he hesitant about the losses. If I were picking the hiesman between those two; I’d go with Daniels all day. If I were picking the best player in college football, I would say Brock Bowers and it’s not all that close. Both are hard to admit as a Bama fan.

Jayden Daniels vs Alabama/Florida State

37/61
60.6%
565 yards
3 touchdowns
2 interceptions
26 carries, 227 yards, 1 touchdown

Compare that with Michael Penix throwing 2 interceptions (-4 rushing yards), no touchdowns vs shite tier Arizona State (1-6).

The argument here is that Penix deserves the Heisman simply because his defense didn't lose that game or any others.

I don’t know about the argument but the point is against good but not great defenses Daniels passing pct was fairly poor, he threw only 3 tds to 2 interceptions, scored 24 and 28 points, and LSU lost both games.

He’s the best player, but they don’t do that. if they want to give it to best player in college Football, Bowers is that guy.

Too bad he doesn't play for Michigan. He'd have it on a platter.

And my point is that both Penix and Nix would have multiple losses as well if they had LSU's defense instead of their own.

And we aren't even getting into the conversation about LSU having a MUCH tougher schedule than either Oregon or Washington.

..but when he pussed out and pretended he couldn't play no more after a vicious hit by an Alabama LB trying his best to tackle him like she was a fragile girl....well he lost a lot of votes.

Even his coach knew he was not physically hurt, just his feelings.

But just because he quit in only 1 game he's still 10 times better than those West Coast pussies.

Yes and he lit all three up dumbass.

Against the two best teams he played, FSU and Alabama, LSU scored 24 and 28 points and lost.

That is why Jayden Daniels will not win the Heisman. The two biggest games, the two games that the most Heisman voters actually payed attention to, he didn’t do anything more than play really good.

Again, he is a great player and probably the best QB this year.

But when people from all over the country were paying attention he just looked really good. And lost.

Fair or not, that is what Heisman voters outside of the southeast remember.
