Henry was insistent that he play RB. Saban was the only one who would agree to it, Every other team wanted at LB or as an athlete. Saban basically gave him what we wanted when other teams saw him in a different position. He won the Heisman and made it to the League in the 2nd round. Maybe he could have received a higher draft position as a LB but he wanted to be a RB.

Wrong. The Att are not what has folks in the NFL concerned. It's the practices that players like Jonathan Allen say are worse than games. It's the helicopter coaching that Eddie Lacy alluded to when he said that he didn't know how to be a pro when he got to the NFL because everything was taken care of at bama. It's having Cochran screaming in your face every day at 5am in the weight room.

Then you go to practice and saban is turning every shade of red and screaming at anybody who makes a mistake. Etc etc etc...these guys are emotionally and physically beaten down when they leave Tuscaloosa. That's why I call him the swag-vampire. It's all in good fun.

You motherfrickers just make up shite and go with it? You sound like a clown, now get fricked F---aggot.

Where would LF have played that he wouldn't have ended up a top draft pick?

Most anywhere with a decent OL and somewhat of commitment to a power running game.

quote:

Is he a generational talent like you guys have been saying for the last 4 years or not?

He is. The NFL agrees. The record book at bama agrees. After all, he has more yards in 2.5 years than any RB from bama.....EVER (1892). How many generations is that?

quote:

Because if so, his draft status would have only been impacted by his ability to stay healthy

Ding ding ding...now you're on to something. He and his family believed that if LF would have gotten hurt like he did that saban would have sent his arse in that tent on the sideline and shot him up with a needle that would make a veterinarian blush. LF knew that Les and frank would not run him into the ground. Even Ed O didn't pressure him into playing in a meaningless bowl game when he knew we would beat the crap out of UL.

quote:

Derrick Henry was not close a generational talent.

He set the all-time high school rushing record and broke the SEC rushing record held by Herschel since 1981.

So you don't believe he was going to LSU no matter what? You think it came down to who he thought would babysit him better?

Ok.....juvenile cursing and name calling.
Now where are your statistics?
Gumps are the most insecure fan base in history.....and I have the statistics to back this up!
Gumps are incredibly predictable...

I am a Vol who is now firmly #TeamHenry in this fight because of my undying support for the Titans. LF7 might have more $ in the bank upfront, but in the end it will be the same old story it was in college. LF7's Jaguars getting knocked the hell around by the Henry's Titans.

Wasn't Fournette supposedly playing on a bad ankle all year ?

Fournette and Henry had the same number of touches per game in 2015. Fournette had more touches in his career than Henry.

Yeah, I'm actually worried about that. I do have confidence in Tom Coughlin as it relates to understanding what it will take to commit to a power running game (even from the spread). LF is not a scat back. He is a one cut power RB with breakaway speed.

I love Fournette's talent but I didn't like the pick. Being a top 5 pick could hurt both Jacksonville and Fournette's career- it basically means he's going to get the ball a ton early and I don't know if you can build a team around an unproven RB with some durability issues. Hell, I don't know if you can build a title team around a back anymore even a HoF back- OJ, Dickerson, Barry, LT and Peterson were the best backs of the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and 10s and collectively they won 0 titles despite each spending the vast majority of time on one team and arguably being best players in their respective franchises history.

Not babysit. But they did not want to send him to a school with a sociopath as the coach with hordes of sycophants in the athletic dept and in the fanbase who are more concerned with winning championships than his or any players future as it relates to their health and well-being.

Bama fans say it all the time on here and when I talk to them in real life....."awwww hell..... I don't care what happens to 'em when they leave. I don't even watch the NFL." You know it's true.

So they were serious about Bama but changed their mind when they realized Nick Saban was still coaching? You, sir, are a fricking idiot.

Yes, as they explored both schools and thought it over that's basically what they concluded. I put it in my own words which I knew would expose you to E-acid rain. It hurts. Don't it, Bubba? There is no cure. Logoff or wait until the storm passes...signed Blackcloud.

LF7 sat out the bowl game because of his ankle....not because he was concerned about getting injured....he was injured.
He wasn't dressed out in the Florida game because of his ankle....but Florida thugs started acting like florida thugs before the game started....LF7 went and put his uniform on and wanted to play.....
That's a man!

What? I thought he went to LSU because he knew they would protect him. Yet they let him play when he was injured? Crazy!

You're wrong.

He played. He just wasn't effective. Because he shouldn't have been playing but his coaches allowed it.

12 carries. 40 yards.
