1908? AP lists LSU with 2 titles, 1958 and 2007. LINK If you want to believe LSU is a blue blood type program, though, then knock yourself out.
If Alabama did what LSU did in 1908, they would claim the title.
LSU doesn't claim it.
AP hasn't been a decider since 97. Are you autistic? You must be autistic.

Elite? No
Consistently good? Absolutely
The right coach could put the program back into elite status.

LSU is the second best program in the SEC. Take that as you may

And every one of those "blue blood" programs previously noted have won more titles than LSU has.

Texas has not. Post integration, Michigan has not

Since 1970, which is about when all SEC programs had integrated, LSU is the 6th ranked SEC team in winning pct, behind even 5th ranked Tennessee.
After Alabama, there is UGA, UF, Auburn, UT, and then LSU.

Yeah 1908 is one the NCAA record book gives LSU but the school does not claim. Lol at the AP in 2003. What a shite show that was, frickin' USC

We're measuring programs, use all time. No one cares about subjective stats. UGA, UF, Auburn ahead of LSU is Top Kek material

Why do you think I said "plus Michigan"? They have won more games than any team in the nation. Like it or not, most college football fans consider Michigan a blue blood and do not consider LSU that.
Texas has won 3 since their conference integrated, but like Nebraska, they're kind of just barely hanging on to their celebrity.

Integration is a clear point of demarcation for Southern teams. There is the white bread era, when the black kids couldn't even attend SEC schools, and when The University of Tennessee was relevant, and there is the post integration era.

Tennessee is the conference's historic #2, but they aren't the brand, consistent winner and recruiting machine that LSU has been for the past 15 years
Alabama
LSU
Florida
Auburn
Georgia
A&M
Ole Miss
Tennessee
Arkansas
Mississippi State
South Carolina
Missouri
Kentucky
Vanderbilt

Not right now. Miles coached the "elite" right out of this program. If we get the right guy in here next year....maybe.

Because they piled on a lot of wins and titles prior to WW2

Tennessee ranks 5th since the SEC was integrated and LSU ranks 6th. Thems the facts. Nick Saban made LSU a contender, but he ain't walking through that purple and gold locker room door anymore.

There are multiple points we can use. That is just subjective to what you feel is the best point. Some would argue the implementation of roster limits had a bigger impact. Remember Bryant's gigantic Bama teams? What about the allowance of unlimited substitutions which led to the invention of platoon football? That's another HUGE one.
