Nope......right now we are a good team but things change fast as this season is proof of that. LSU can be again, depends on who we hire as the head coach and if it is the correct fit.

I will say it this way:

If OSU plays Wisconsin or Nebraska, I don't think they will lose to the talent on the opposite side of the field. They may lose, but it won't be due to supreme talent.

If OSU played LSU, I would be worried that there are 'dudes' on the other sideline. So in that sense, i would say LSU is more elite than Wisky or Nebraska.

LSU is the 2nd best football program in the SEC right now, so yes I would consider LSU elite.

In short, no. LSU has the ability to be elite. But for LSUs two glory periods coinciding with Saban and Bear at Bama, I think LSU would be considered a blue-blood, elite program. They were at that level from 03-11. Not since and it is highly questionable when or if that changes.

Did you think Alabama was still an elite program back in 2006?

I bet you and every Gump out there did even though Bama hadn't done much in quite a long time.

I guaran-damn-tee you weren't comparing yourselves with two-bit schools that have never won anything of consequence either.

Yes, this is a flame thread, so you can take it and shove it.

We lost elite status around 2014, I think.

Obviously, LSU was elite in 2011. LSU also had great defense in 2012 and great offense in 2013 ... but not both in the same year.

Since then, we have declined. No doubt about it.

LOL - 1997 to 2007 was the worst stretch of our program's history. Nobody on earth was claiming Alabama to be an elite program in 2006 (pre-Saban arrival). Not even the most Bear Bryant tatted Bammer.

Performance-wise? Not elite. Just really good.

Talent-wise? Only Bama compares.
