I don't like it, but I guess an LSU fan knows what he's talking about when he says that.

Haha, lsu isn't worried about that man. We have eno ugh talent within our own state to build a powerhouse. We just go pick and choose in tx. We arent worried about tamu. Let them do what they do. If they cheat like that then they will get busted too. I still will take louistana talent over anywhere else anyday of the week.. lsu will always be fine. Once orgeron locms down north la, like he's working on right now, it's over with. Then the real fun starts, ain't worried about tamu. Lol.

agree with most everything.. but it's still a bad deal when a program goes rogue on a shopping spree. Hopefully Saban will still be around the next time it happens and place the hit call again:)

Exactly. We have the wallet but not even close to the recruiting grounds. When only white people played football we were really good, when we started letting black people play football before a lot of other regional schools we were great...now we are middle 6 (except in bad years :(. Arkansas has a decent selection of athletes, but not enough to compete for the top rung in the SEC and certainly not enough that are academically eligible. The only way we will ever become year in year out good is to establish a much larger recruiting footprint which won't happen without year in year out success. AKA, we need other teams to frick up (sanctions even) and for our in state class to kick arse for a year years straight. Those things won't ever line up, so the next best chance is for NWA to keep booming and produce enough athletes to form a core for us and focus on Tejas, Louzana, Okloma, and Mizura athletes to fill in the gaps.

Vanderbilt has a 4 billion dollar endowment and operates 4 hospitals. Vandy employs 55,000 employees which makes them the largest employer in Tennessee. Vandy owns several clinics, an observatory on an estate-like setting, a golf course in pristine Williamson County and several commercial properties in Nashville. If Vandy wanted to compete in Football, believe me they could.

Auburn is a top 15 all-time football program by literally every possible measure.

Arkansas has been falling ever since they joined a real conference 25 years ago. Soon you won't be ranked in the top 25 all-time at all.

Vandy will not touch the endowment for football purposes.

I see no reason why Carolina could make a run with the right coach. Hell, all Spur dog wanted to do was play golf at Augusta, he won 11 games a couple of time, and played in a SECCG.
Shoot me for this, but Mizzou could and should do better. They have a state ro themselves. They played good ball in the Big XII and started out with a blast in the SEC.
Right Coaches and they BOTH could be a success every year.

The real question is, do all of the old Big 6 have the resources in their wallets to remain power players.

There are a couple who seem to be waivering. Not naming names, you know who you are.

Yeah, losing to South Carolina more than once every 50 years would have me concerned

You say that as if we've played every year. We've played 8 times since 1933.

And you've lost every one of those.

Don't make excuses for not beating us in 84 years. Just accept it and move on with your life.

Put your guns back in the holster Tex. I know they will not use the endowment for sports. But it is a reflection of a wealthy University that can certainly pay the bills.

In terms of money, yes. The money gap between programs in the SEC is as small as it's ever been (relatively speaking)

The problem is the smaller programs have other issues, be it location or priority placed on winning or general mentality, that keeps them where they are.

The one thing I've learned about life after all of these years is that in matters such as these it all balances out in the end.

SC is trending up ... we had never won a bowl prior to '94. Now we've knocked off Nebraska, Miami, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State twice and who else I forget. We'll be at .500 in bowls in my lifetime.

It's only a matter of time before we go on a run against Auburn ... but you keep living on the 8 wins over us in 80-something years. LULZ

We're too methodical and relentless to give a shite ... honestly, and please don't take that wrong. We respect the helloutta Auburn - but we'll go on a run against you soon enough. It is inevitable. The odds are on our side and it's all a numbers game. Anyone and everyone knows that.

So you are asking if the school which has the largest stadium, largest attendance, and an endowment >> "big 6" combined has a chance?
