My point is that even with those power boosters, the biggest in college sports...where is oregon? Where is oklahoma state? Name me the titles they have won on a national level to be considered a power program besides their bigtime money boosters? Bigtime programs have bigtime boosters too by the way. It's not like oregon or oklahoma state have all this money while other bigtime programs are working with pennies. Bigtime programs have alot of big boosters, maybe not one power booster, but alot of mid range ones that generate plenty of support financially. Oklahoma state can have t boone Pickens but they will never be oklahoma or surpass them...it takes more than a booster is my point. Oregon has phil knight, has the fwcilities, has all the money in the world...yet look at their recruiting. The only thing that changes perception is winning, and winning big games on a national level. That's what builds a program. Like I said, it's an uphill battLe for these little 8 schools in the sec against the big 6 bc of national perception built over a long period of time. I just don't see it happening or it would have happened already.

Was the OP arguing otherwise? Money buys a lot. But I never insinuated that it bought blue blood status. But it has made Oregon and Oklahoma State a player. When they were cellar dwellers.

In 1933.

Before Hitler came to power...before, and after, the Fall of the Soviet Union, and after the discovery of "modern" plumbing.

That is the last time South Carolina beat Auburn.

I agree with you kinda with oregon but not oklahoma state...they will never be what oklahoma is and that is their biggest problem, not money. I agree with you on oregon, but damn, their recruiting base is so bad that it hurts them and just to be able to compete they have to have those facilities and resources. Oregon has taken a hit since they have fallen off the last few years. This is what will hurt them bc they cannot sustain success in that area.

It will be tough in the sec for any of the little 8 in football to catch up is all I was saying...and it's more than money that is the reason.

Lol at football. It's an obsolete sport, which will die within 20 years. Basketball is the happening.

A&m and arky have the wallet. Arky can't make the jump due to lack of in state talent and a&m because LSU is their daddy

We really just use Texas A&M for their money.

But they do practically nothing in Football.

Why?

He's serious. A&M sucks.

He was asking about "resources in their wallet" not suckatuge.

We pretty much have the entire conference beat in the "resources in the wallet" category. We curb stomp the rest of the conference in under achieving as well. I am just thankful that I don't smell like corndogs though.

I'll leave others to get sucked into your troll.
I just thought the resources thing was chucklesome.
Carry on.
