I think most State fans don't think he intentionally "stomped" either of those two players.

If that's true, you have dumbest fan base in the SEC.

I'm not even a hater. I was pulling for MSU vs. LSU. If Day played for Ole Miss, I'd want him to be a man and admit he's an idiot, at minimum. Then I would endorse any punishment deemed necessary.

Y'all just love to put your heads up your asses and endorse delusion and stupidity. Don't ever change.

This. Robert pushed a guy down against Arkansas and got suspended for the next game. This was way worse and he's lucky to get off with just one game IMO.

A ruling to get pissed about would be something like Trae Elston two years ago before we played Texas. He made a hard hit against UTEP that the refs didn't even deem excessive but then that following Monday the SEC calls Freeze and says he is suspended for a completely legal hit. THAT is the kind of punishment that should be criticized. No the Dillon Day one.

I really think a lot of State fans think people are trying to diminish what they accomplished as a team Saturday or something. Regardless of what Day did, State thoroughly outplayed LSU, and nothing Day did on those plays had any effect on the outcome of the game. However, some of their fans need to just call a spade a spade. What Day did was dirty, and he deserved to be punished for it. There's really no way around it.

If Nkemdiche or Treadwell does anything illegal against Memphis- you know, like jumping offsides or holding or anything serious like that - they should be held out the next game. I just hope they do the right thing and watch out for those shenanigans against Memphis and be ready to suspend them against the next opponent...whomever that might be...

The REC is going to have a very close eye on our game Saturday.

That is exactly what the vast majority of the threads on the topic are attempting to do.

However, some of their fans need to just call a spade a spade.

Sure -- as soon as your fanbase gets up in arms and call for the immediate suspension of these two perfect angels.

The vast majority of our fanbase is simply sick of LSU coaches being crybabies literally every time we beat them at anything and blowing up "game" situations in the media -- and the vast majority of your fanbase falling mindlessly in line to "defend" those positions no matter how whiny and ridiculously pussified they were. You are breeding crybabies down there -- and it's leaching it's way into your results when the marbles are on the line. Somewhere, Skip has to be shaking his damn head wondering what the frick is going on with all of your crybaby coaching staff(s).

We may not ever win shite of consequence -- and I'm fine with that. But I'll be damn if we cry about other teams in the media about bullshite that should ALWAYS be handled between the lines. The fact is -- this is only even a topic of conversation because Miles was a crybaby about it in the media. Real teams handle it between the lines and then leave it there.

That's what we are "defending". Most of us aren't defending the idea that the plays actually weren't dirty and admit that given Day's history that he damn sure doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt -- we are simply calling you hypocrites and pussies for not handling it in a way becoming of men in a man's game. At the very least, Miles' dumb arse should have just sent the tapes and stayed mum about the topic when he was suspended.

Yeah. Not buying that tortured logic.
It was not LSU's fault that Day has become such a big story and an embarrassment to State.
It's Day's fault.
It actually IS that simple.
The real shame is that we're talking about Day and his Serial tPOS antics that Mullen should have already dealt with and NOT what an impressive win MSU got.
STATE DOMINATED LSU and we aren't talking about that accomplishment because of this type of trash.
Don't blame Les Miles.
Blame Day. And after him, blame MSU staff for not dealing with Day's crap last year.

No hearts

Dr. Mark E. Keenum
President
Mississippi State University
P.O. Box 6018
Lee Hall, Suite 4000
Mississippi State, MS 39762

DELIVERED VIA ELECTRONIC MAIL

Dr. Keenum:

I trust that this letter finds you well. Like the entire Mississippi State family, I am excited that Coach Dan Mullen's football team finally tasted victory over our SEC West brethren from Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College this past weekend. 15 years is a long time to wait. However, the ending probably took 15 years off of my life!

The purpose of this letter is to make your office aware of my disappointment in one of our student-athletes, Dillon Day. As you are aware, Mr. Day was called for a personal foul in the contest against LSU, an infraction that followed two questionable plays earlier in the game. Back in our day, we were lucky to be able to watch a football game on television. Now, with the advancement of technology, we have high definition cameras that capture the action in great detail. These cameras captured Mr. Day stomping aggressively on student-athletes from LSU.

I believe that you would agree with me that the sportsmanship of Mr. Day was questionable, if not intentional. While there is no way the cameras can capture the intent of Mr. Day, the fact that the infraction occurred twice, and Mr. Day being suspended by the Southeastern Conference during the 2013 season, should shed light on my concern of this being a "dirty play."

As you are aware, the Southeastern Conference mandated a one-game suspension of Mr. Day. I believe that this is a fair punishment, and I hope that the university, through its Dean of Students, requires of Mr. Day what it would require of a non-student athlete that found themselves in similar circumstances.

My main concern that now, when the nation hears about the Mississippi State football team, they hear about this incident of dirty play rather than the exciting win on Saturday night. This is an embarrassment to the Mississippi State family.

Thank you for your consideration, and Hail State!

Odd things to include in such a letter, but university presidents are sometimes an odd breed.

Sure -- so why is trying to rip a Heisman candidate's head off and kicking him on the ground after the play a "non story"? Day is only a big story because your coach went baby back bitch and cried about it in the postgame press conference instead of sending a 4th string DL to "remedy" the damn problem during the game like any real coach worth a frick would have done.

Well -- it was never any doubt you would find something to crybaby it up about. You do it every time anyway.

No -- you aren't talking about it because you would rather deflect from EXACTLY what I told you would happen -- happening.

Yeah -- your overt participation in every one of them is your concern for the wellness of LSU student-athletes and has nothing to do with a feel-better deflection from watching your team embarrass the conference. I believe you.

At first I didn't think much about it. Football is an emotional and physical game and guys can get out of hand. But y'all's defense of it is ridiculous.

Pretty sure I've been in every Mizzou screwed up and lost to the B1G thread on here. We sucked. I don't need to deflect from that. Yinz could learn from that.
