this is some strange logic... Pinkel created his own mess last year, so it's more impressive that he was able to correct it?
Man for man, I'm not so sure Mizzou isn't more talented than Auburn... those WRs, Gaines, Sam, Ealey, the OL, Franklin, etc... a lot of talent on that team... yet Auburn throttled them late.

Gus certainly did a great job. But the OP is the exact reason why I think Pinkel was more impressive. Pinkel is coaching almost exclusively 3 stars whereas Gus is coaching top 10 recruiting classes. Pinkel corrected his OWN mistakes with his own players and won the division and 11 games. Gus corrected someone else's mistakes with someone else's players. Gus did a great job, but I think Pinkel was more impressive.

The greatest job Gus did was in the locker room - changing the culture. The Chizik/Trooper environment left behind was entitled/toxic/lazy. Gus changed all that in less than a year. Play calling and game planning are just one part of being a coach, and probably not even the most important.
Anybody that discounts the leadership and culture change that Gus has provided is a fool. Auburn has a good coach on their hands.
